Full name FRANK JOSEPH HERRMANN...Married, Johanna...Grew up in Rutherford, NJ...Attended Montclair Kimberley Academy where he played football, baseball and basketball...Was a standout football player (QB/Safety) and was recruited by several Big East and Ivy League schools to play football...Opted to attend Harvard and originally planned to play both sports before settling on baseball...Played 3 years at Harvard, going 5-2 w/a 4.34 ERA in 12 games/9GS during his junior year (3CG, 58.0IP, 54H, 28ER, 47K) of 2005...Played for Berkshire in the New England Collegiate Baseball League in summer of 2004...Earned a degree in economics from Harvard in the fall of 2006...16 players have now reached the big leagues from Harvard, the last before Frank was Jeff Musselman in 1990...Frank's a participant in the 2010 CIC Celebrity Golf Classic and the annual Tyson Food Distribution event...He and his wife, Johanna, participated in the first Puppypalooza event at Progressive Field.

닓eason never got started as he was limited to just two spring appearances, the last of which came on Feb 25 at Oakland (1.0IP, 5H, 4R/ER)...Developed sore elbow in camp and was diagnosed with a right UCL tear in his right pitching elbow and underwent season-ending surgery on March 31 in New York City (Dr. David Altchek).
2012
Spent most of the campaign at Triple-A Columbus where he was 2-2 with 8 saves and a 4.78 ERA in a team-best 42
relief appearances (52.2IP, 58H, 28ER, 15BB, 58K, .282AVG)...Addition of a knuckle/spike curve ball at mid-season
jump-started his campaign...Averaged 9.9 strikeouts per 9.0IP for the Clippers and enjoyed scoreless outings in 8 of
his final 10 outings with the Clip Show....Was with the Indians over two stints , August 7-22, and September 2nd thru
the end of the season...Went 0-0 with a 4.76 ERA in 4 relief outings (5.2IP, 5H, 3R/ER, .238AVG) over his first stint
and appeared in 11 games in Sept/Oct with the Tribe. With the Indians he limited batters to a .179 (12-67) average against, including a mark of .115 (3-26) with runners on
base and a .115 (2-19) mark with runners in scoring position, which was good enough for 4th-lowest among AL relievers
according to Stats LLC despite just 15 big league outings...11 of his 15 outings with Cleveland were scoreless on
the year, including his last 8 in a row to establish a new career-high from Sept 14-Oct 3 (9.2IP, 3H, 0R, 7K, .100AVG)

Spent most of the season in the Indians bullpen around four stints in the Major Leagues...Opened the season on the
Major League roster and was optioned to AAA Columbus on April 13 and was with Cleveland from April 28-30, May
10-11 and May 20 thru the end of the season...At AAA Columbus was 0-0 w/a 5.91 ERA (10.2IP, 13H, 7R/ER, 4BB, 12K, .310 avg) in games...Struck out an Indians 2011 relief-high and career most 5 White Sox on opening day, April 1, in relief of Fausto Carmona...
Worked career-high 4.0 perfect innings in 16.0 inning victory (his 4th win) on August 31 vs. Oakland...Longest perfect
relief outing by an Indians pitcher since Jake Westbrook in 2004 (7.0IP)...Was tied for 23rd among AL relievers with 4
wins... Earned his first Major League win on July 2 at Cincinnati (3.0IP, 1H, 0R)...From June 10 thru the end of the season his ERA was 4.25 (42.1IP, 50H, 20ER, 20K) in 30 games...ERA in June was

Made his first appearance at the Major League level after being signed as a non-drafted free agent in 2005 after

and a 0.31 ERA (28.2IP, 15H, 1R/ER, 8BB, 22K) in 19 appearances out of the bullpen for the Clippers.
...After allowing a run in his first appearance of the season on April 8, he did not allowed a run in his last 27.1 innings
(18 app.) and after April 30, he struck out 16 and walked just 3 in 18.2 IP (11G, 8H, 0R)...On the year at Triple-A,
Herrmann limited AAA hitters to a .156 (15-89) average against, 4th lowest among all IL relievers at the time, and his
7.22 runners allowed (23/28.2IP) per 9.0IP, which was 2nd fewest in the league when his contract was purchased by
Cleveland on June 4.

at least 6.0IP in 4 of the 5 starts...Promoted to AAA Columbus on May 5 and was converted to a relief role for
the first time in his career...ERA over his last 35 appearances was 2.53 (57.0IP, 62H, 16ER, 11BB, 41K, 2HR)
from June 1 thru the end of the season...Recorded first saves of his pro career on May 18 and May 26 (both
1-2-3 innings)...Combined on the year he was 4-4 w/a 2.95 ERA in 49 games/5GS (106.2IP, 110H, 35ER, 7HR,

Led the Carolina League in CG and was T4th in starts (26)...Led the Indians PD system in CG, was 3rd in IP, 4th in inning % (.688, 11-5) and 8th in ERA (4.01)...Named to the Carolina League all-star team.
