Robert Joseph LaFromboise (pronounced lah-frahm- BOYCE)...Is a 2004 graduate of Warren High School in Downey, CA...Attended Rio Hondo Community College in 2005 and 2006 before transferring in 2007 to the University of New Mexico, where he played two seasons of baseball.

Attended Major League spring training with the Mariners...Was designated for assignment on 3/27, claimed off waivers by San Diego on 4/2 and optioned to Triple-A El Paso...Was scored upon once in his first six appearances with the Chihuahuas...Was recalled by the Padres as the 26th man on 4/9, but did not appear in the doubleheader at Cleveland before being optioned back to El Paso after the games...Recorded two of his three saves with El Paso in back-to-back appearances on 4/11 and 4/14...Won his lone Triple-A game on 5/18 vs. Las Vegas despite allowing two runs in 1.0 inning of work...Recorded his third and final save on 5/20 at Sacramento...Posted a 2.53 ERA (10.2ip/3er) in 10 appearances during the month of July...Was claimed off waivers by Pittsburgh on 8/24 and optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis...Retired the only batter he faced while making his debut with the Indians on 8/25 at Columbus...Gave up two hits in his five games with Indianapolis...Established minor league career high in appearances (63).

Made three stints with the Mariners, April 10-17, July 12-23 and Sept. 7-end of the season, appearing in 10 games in relief. Made Major League debut April 10 vs. Houston, striking out 2 of the 3 batters faced (Carter & Peña) in the 9th inning (1.0,0,0,0,0,2). Posted a 2.25 ERA (2 ER, 8.0 IP) with a .233 opponent batting average in third stint with the Mariners, Sept. 9-end of the season. Went 6-0 with 5 saves and a 3.39 ERA (23 ER, 61.0 IP) in 45 relief appearances with AAA Tacoma. Among PCL relievers, ranked 5th with the fewest walks per 9.0 innings (2.21)…allowed only 3 walks in final 18.1 innings of the season, July 28-Aug. 31.
