In his only season with the Red Sox posted a sterling 2.29era in 70 apps, both career bests...induced 14 GIDPs, the most by any American League reliever and second among all relievers (LAD's Brandon League, 15gidp)...on 4/21 vs Bal induced 3 double plays, the most in a game by a Red Sox pitcher since Joe Hesketh had 3 on 5/22/93 vs NYY...did not allow a run in 57 of his 70 apps...from 4/16-6/20 did not allow an earned run in 32.1 innings (28g), the third-longest streak without an ER ever by a Sox reliever (Koji Uehara, 33.2ip in 2013; Dick Radatz, 33.0ip in 1963)...beginning 4/21 posted a 1.61era the rest of the season, sixth-best among all Major League relievers over that span, and had a 1.05era over his final 29g (25.2ip, 3er)...allowed only 1 homer all season, on 4/12 at NYY (Kelly Johnson) in his fourth appearance...recorded his only save in a 14-inning, 6-4 win on 4/16 at WSox...produced a 1.45era in the 20 apps in which he threw more than 1.0 inning...became a free agent following the season and in February 2015 was signed by the Reds to a 1-year contract, with a mutual option for 2016.
2013
Posted a career-best 1.19 WHIP (62 hits/12 walks) in 62.1 innings. Held righties to a .229 AVG (35-for-153). Went 1-0 with a 2.05 ERA (5 ER/22.0 IP) over his final 21 appearances of the season after going 1-3 with a 4.24 ERA (19 ER/40.1 IP) over his first 42 games of the year. Made a season-high 15 appearances in May and posted a 1.13 ERA (2 ER/16.0 IP) with 15 SO for the month. Did not issue a walk in a season-best 15 consecutive appearances (11.0 IP) from 4/7-5/14/13…Ended the season with no walks in each of his final 9 games (6.1 IP) of the season.
2012
In his fi rst full MLB season went 3-2 with a 3.03 ERA in 66 relief appearances with Tampa Bay. His 66 appearances marked a career high ... his 3.03 ERA was a career best. Posted a 7.20 ERA in April (10g, 10ip, 8er) with opponents batting .317 (13-for-41, 3hr) but rebounded with a 2.24 ERA the rest of the season (56g, 52.1ip, 13er) as opponents batted .248 (50-for-202, 3hr). Induced 9 GIDP, which tied three others for third among American League relievers, trailing only the White Sox' Nate Jones (11) and Rangers' Robbie Ross (11). Allowed just 12 walks in 62.1 innings ... his average of 1.73 BB/9 IP ranked seventh among
American League relievers. Was traded to Milwaukee in exchange for OF Raul Mondesi Jr. on 12/1. Signed a 1-year contract on 1/18/13, avoiding arbitration.

Made his second Opening Day roster, also breaking camp with the Marlins in 2009. Went 2-5 with
one save and a 3.99 ERA in 53 appearances with Florida. Set career highs in saves, losses and
games pitched ... In first appearance of the year, tossed a season-high 3.0 innings on April 8 at New York ... Earned first career save on April 14 vs. Cincinnati, tossing 2.0 scoreless innings ... Allowed one run over his first five appearances, holding a 0.93 ERA (9.2 IP/1 ER). Surrendered at
least one run in nine of his next 10 appearances, owning an 11.12 ERA (11.1 IP/14 ER) in that span ... Was on the losing end of five straight decisions from April1 2 to May 26. The five consecutive losses
were a career long, as he previously had only lost two consecutive decisions two times before:

Philadelphia, earning the win after allowing only one run on five hits with one walk and three
strikeouts over 5.0 innings. In his second start, August 1 vs. Chicago (NL), did not earn a decision
after surrendering six runs (five earned) on five hits with four walks and one strikeout over 1.2
innings...Missed 27 games after straining his right trapezius on August 1. Returned from rehab and reinstated
from the 15-day Disabled List on September 1. Made four rehab starts where he went 0-1 with
a 0.00 ERA (11.0 IP). Allowed four hits and four runs (none earned) with one walk while striking out
12. Prior to landing on the DL, posted a 5-4 record and 4.19 ERA (53.2 IP/25 ER) in 26 games. Had
nine appearances after his return, earning two wins while allowing just five runs in 18.1 innings
