Made just 17 starts due to two trips to disabled list...First trip (left shoulder tendinitis) followed first start of season on April 8. Returned on May 22 and made 16 starts before going on DL again (left elbow impingement syndrome) for rest of season after outing on August 10...Won back-to-back starts on June 12 and 17 (only consecutive wins of season)...Struck out season-high eight batters on July 26 vs. Iowa.
2010
Split the season between triple-A New Orleans and Florida, making thirteen starts between the two clubs, and making two trips to the disabled list ... Began the season on the disabled list with a lower back strain, missing the first two months of the season ... Made his first start on June 1, tossing 1.2 scoreless innings against the Omaha Royals ... Threw a complete game in the first game of a double-header on June 16, allowing four runs over his 6.0 innings of work ... Tossed the first complete game shutout of his professional career in his final start at New Orleans on July 27, giving up only five hits while striking out four ... Allowed three runs or less in nine of his 11 starts at New Orleans ... Recalled on August 3rd and started that night against Philadelphia, allowing four runs over 5.0 innings of work, being tagged with the loss ... Made two starts for Florida, going 0-2 with a 7.71 ERA before being placed on the 15-day DL on August 18 (retroactive to August 15) with right knee inflammation.

Began his fourth professional season at double-A Jacksonville, where he went 4-2 with a 4.85 ERA (42.2 IP/23 ER) in eight starts with the Suns prior to having his contract selected by Florida on May 23. Optioned back to Jacksonville on July 11 and went 3-1 with a 4.64 ERA (21.1 IP/11 ER) in four games (three starts)...Overall, posted a 7-3 record and 4.78 ERA with the Suns. Between Jacksonville and Florida, he established career highs in every category...His longest outing with Jacksonville spanned 7.0 innings, coming on July 23 at West Tennessee. Earned the win in that game, and went on to win his next two starts to record a season-best three-game win streak...Struck out a season-high nine batters in his second start, April 15 vs. West Tennessee...Had his contract selected by Florida on May 23, and in 20 starts with the Fish, went 8-6 with a 4.79 ERA...Made his Major League debut on May 23 vs. Tampa Bay, surrendering two runs on four hits with four walks and five strikeouts over 5.0 innings...In his first stint with the Marlins, from May 23 to July 11, went 3-4 with a 4.91 ERA (55.0 IP/30 ER) in 10 starts...Earned his first Major League win on June 8 vs. San Francisco, tossing a career-high 8.0 scoreless innings while allowing only two hits with one walk and six strikeouts in a duel against Randy Johnson. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the last starting pitcher whose first win came in a game in which he was opposed by a 300-game winner was Ian Snell, who opposed Roger Clemens in 2005...Was recalled on August 8, marking his second stint with Florida this season. After his return from Jacksonville, posted a 5-2 record and 4.66 ERA (48.1 IP/25 ER) in 10 starts...Pitched considerably better at home then on the road, going 6-2 with a 3.29 ERA (54.2 IP/20 ER) in 10 starts at Sun Life Stadium. In comparison, posted a 2-4 mark and 6.47 ERA (48.2 IP/35 ER) in 10 road starts...Flourished in the month of August, compiling a 3-1 record and 2.77 ERA (26.0 IP/8 ER) in five starts. Won three straight decisions in five starting assignments from August 25 to September 15. Struck out a season-high nine batters in the fnal game of the win streak at St. Louis.

Returned to action after missing 2007 recovering from left shoulder surgery to post a 6-5 record and 2.41 ERA in 21games (20 starts) with single-A Jupiter...made second career relief appearance in his final game of the season, August 30 vs. Daytona...allowed one hit over 4.0 IP...participated in the Arizona Fall League following the season, going 3-2 with a 6.21 ERA (29.0 IP/20 ER) in eight starts with the Mesa Solar Sox.

Went 8-5 with 3.74 ERA in 21 starts with Greensboro (A)...recorded 102 strikeouts and 40 walks in 120.1 innings...Won first three decisions of season over span of first nine starts from April 9 to June 14...earned win in first start of season on April 9 against Hagerstown, allowing two hits with four strikeouts in 6.0 innings...went on Disabled List from April 14 to May 8 with left shoulder tendinitis...earned wins on May 25 at Greenville (6.0 IP, ER, 4 H, 1 BB, 1 SO) and June 14 at Asheville (6.1 IP, 5 H, 1 BB, 8 SO), before losing four straight starts from June 24 to July 9...won five straight starts from July 25 to August 18, going 5-0 with 3.52 ERA (12 ER, 30.2 IP) over that stretch...named Player of the Week for May 29-June 4, going 0-0 with 0.00 ERA in two starts (13.0 innings)...Had .615 winning percentage, tied with Daniel Barone (8-5 with Carolina, Jupiter, Greensboro) for second-best among Marlins minor leaguers...only Renyel Pinto (8-2 with Albuquerque) had a better winning percentage among Marlins farm hands.
2005
Split season between the Marlins' Gulf Coast League affiliate and Jamestown (A), after he was selected by the Marlins as a compensation pick (44th overall) in the June Draft...began season with the GCL Marlins, going 2-3 with 2.35 ERA in nine games (eight starts)...made pro debut on June 28 at the GCL Mets, allowing no hits or runs with two strikeouts and two walks in 2.0 innings...earned first pro win on July 26 in second game of doubleheader against the GCL Mets...allowed one run on four hits with seven strikeouts in 5.1 innings...went 2-3 with 2.48 ERA in eight starts...made lone career relief outing on July 8 at the GCL Nationals, allowing two hits in 2.0 innings...promoted to Jamestown on August 20, and went 0-2 with 5.73 ERA in three starts.
