Surrendered runs in just six of 36 outings for triple-A New Orleans. Began season with 11 consecutive saves before blowing first opportunity on May 16...Named Marlins' Minor League Pitcher of the Month for April after going 1-1 with six saves in six opportunities and a 0.75 ERA (12.0 IP/1 ER) in 10 appearances. Led Pacific Coast League in saves during month...Rated 'Best Reliever' in PCL by Baseball America following the season...Made first appearance for Marlins on June 21 vs. Los Angeles-AL, allowing two runs (one earned) on one hit in just 0.2 inning. Over first three appearances, allowed seven runs (six earned) on six hits with four walks and seven strikeouts in 4.1 innings (12.46 ERA). Over course of last 14 games allowed just four runs on 10 hits with eight walks and 14 strikeouts over 16.0 innings (2.25 ERA)...Took only loss of season on September 6 vs. New York-NL, allowing three runs on four hits in 0.2 inning.

2010

Saw action at three levels in the Marlins organization after missing the entire 2009 season with injury. Combined for a minor league record of 4-1 with six saves and 2.01 ERA (40.1 IP/9 ER) in 34 games. With Florida, made eight appearances with a 5.19 ERA ... Made his first appearance of the season with Greensboro on June 5, allowing three runs on three hits with a strikeout in 1.0 inning of work ... Surrendered just one run over his final six outings with Grasshoppers, allowing just four hits in 7.0 innings ... Promoted to double-A Jacksonville where he went on to post a 4-1 record with six saves and 1.39 ERA in 27 appearances ... Earned first of his four wins on June 26 vs. Huntsville, allowing one hit in 2.0 innings. Also received wins on July 15 at Mobile, July 26 vs. Huntsville and August 2 vs. Birmingham ... Suffered only loss of season on July 29 at Carolina, allowing two runs on three hits in just 0.2 inning. Marked his first save opportunity of the season ... Of his 27 outings with Jacksonville, 23 were scoreless. Had a season-best 10.2 scoreless inning streak from July 30 to August 27 ... At home, had a 3-0 record and 0.57 ERA (15.2 IP/ ER) with three saves in 13 appearances ... Owned an August record of 1-0 with four saves and 0.84 ERA (10.2 IP/ 1 ER) in 11 games ... Recalled by Florida on September 6 and made his Major League debut that same day at Philadelphia. Did not record an out and allowed one run on two hits and one walk ... Surrendered five runs over his first four ML appearances for a 12.27 ERA (3.2 IP). Over his final four games, allowed no hits and no runs with seven walks and six strikeouts over 5.0 innings ... Tossed a season-high 2.0 innings on September 19 vs. Chicago.
