Was recalled by the Rockies in September and made his Major League debut on 9/16 vs. SF...would get the start in
two-straight games at shortstop 9/16 and 9/17...collected his first Major League hit on 9/17 with a single to center field
in the sixth inning and had his second hit in the same game with a single to right field, his first career multi-hit game...When he was recalled in September, Gomez became one of 10 Rockies this season to make their Major League debut,
joining Charlie Blackmon, Rex Brothers, Tommy Field, Cole Garner, Alan Johnson, Juan Nicasio, Jordan Pacheco,
Drew Pomeranz and Wilin Rosario...made just two starts with the Rockies due to a sore lower back...Began the season with Double-A Tulsa where he was the everyday shortstop for the Drillers...hit .235 (100-for-425) with
23 doubles, 6 triples, 14 home runs, 50 RBI, 46 runs and 16 stolen bases in 102 games...Finished the season with the Drillers with the second-most triples, third-most stolen bases and doubles, the fourth-most
RBI and the fifth-most home runs and hits.
2010
Played just two games in April in his Double-A debut before suffering an injury that caused him to miss
the rest of April and all of May and June...returned to action in mid-July on a rehab assignment for Short
Season Try-City...returned to Tulsa for two weeks in August before being shutdown for the remainder of
2010 with still two weeks remaining in the campaign...Despite the limited playing time at Double-A, Gomez was able to produce a solid batting line that featured
a .314 (11-for-35) batting average with 4 doubles in his 9 games...had four multi-hit games for the
Drillers...hit .429 (3-for-7) with runners in scoring position...Hit .246 (17-for-69) with 2 doubles, one triple, 2 home runs and 7 RBI during his rehab 18 game stint
with Tri-City...hit just .192 through his first 14 games with the Dust Devils before batting .412 in the final
four games of his stint
2009
After missing all but one game in 2008, Gomez returned to Modesto for a full season in 2009
as the club's shortstop...in what was only his second full Minor League season, Gomez hit .275 (93-for-338)
with 32 extra-base hits in 83 games...missed time in April and June with separate injuries...despite missing
significant time due to injury, still had the 5th most total bases (143), the 6th most hits (93), and the 7th most
RBI with 42 on the club...received some at bats at designated hitter, but hit far better as the club's shortstop,
posting a .285 (77-for-270) average when playing shortstop...also hit his best as the club's No.3 hitter,
batting .290 (49-for-169) with 19 extra-base hits and 29 RBI in 41 games from that spot...rated as the
Rockies 5th best prosepect, and as having the best infield arm by Baseball America following the season.

Was a South Atlantic League midseason and postseason All-Star in 2007 while playing at Class-A Asheville.
