Resides in Lehi, UT...Attended Utah Valley Community College in Orem, UT from 1996-98 and holds record for most home runs (3) in a single game...Played baseball at Arizona State...During his senior year at ASU in 2000, hit .357 with 27 homers and 92 RBI...His 27 homers were a single-season Sun Devils' record...Father, Cal, played first base at Dixie College in St. George, UT...Signed by Mike Baker (Yankees).

Entered his 10th professional season and began the season with Triple-A Albuquerque...Made his Major League debut on 6/16 vs. OAK by going 0-for-1 with a strikeout...Made his first big league start on 6/19 at LAA as designated hitter and went 0-for-2...Appeared in eight games for the Dodgers (five as pinch-hitter, two as DH and once in right field) before returning to Albuquerque on 7/1...His 35 home runs for the Isotopes earned him the 2009 Joe Bauman Home Run Award, given annually to the player with the most minor league home runs and set team record with three grand slams...Named to the All-Pacific Coast League team, led the PCL with a .651 slugging percentage and ranked second in the league with 103 RBI.

Began the season with the Hokkaido Nippon Ham-Fighters of the Japanese Pacific League and appeared in just eight games...Returned to the Dodger organization in June...Belted five home runs in his first nine games after leaving Japan.

Hit 19 homers in just 185 at-bats for Triple-A Las Vegas, an average of one every 9.7 at-bats...Was sold to the Hokkaido Nippon Ham-Fighters of the Japanese Pacific League in June...Appeared in 30 games for the Ham-Fighters and hit .160 (15-for-94).

Called up to the Yankees on 5/19 and spent two days on the active roster, but did not see any action.

Made his Triple-A debut with Bucky Dent's Columbus Clippers by hitting .268 (131-for-489, 27 HR)...Won the Triple-A Home Run Derby.
