Combined to go 1-0 with a 0.75 ERA (1 ER/12.0 IP) with 15 strikeouts in nine appearances with rookie Bristol and class a Kannapolis...began the season on the disabled list recovering from right elbow surgery on 4/22/08...as reinstated from the disabled list on 8/21.
2008
Missed the entire season following right elbow ligament reconstruction surgery on 4/22...was signed by the White Sox as a free agent on 12/23 (acquisition recommended by Bill Scherrer).
2007
Made his 1st Opening Day roster as one of the Royals relievers coming out of Spring Training...Dominated on the road this season, recording a 2.74 ERA (23 IP, 18 H, 7 ER) in 14 games...had a 12.12 ERA (16.1 IP, 28 H, 22 ER) in 12 home outings...Allowed just 2 hits in 20 at bats with runners in scoring position and 2 outs...Went 0-0 with a 4.82 ERA in 7 relief outings before being optioned to Omaha (AAA) on May 1...the Royals were 1-6 in those appearances...Opponents hit just .161 (5-for-31) against him during his 1st stint, but he issued 8 walks and allowed 4 of his 7 inherited runners to score...Recorded 7.0 consecutive scoreless innings over 3 outings from April 9-16, allowing just 1 hit and 2 walks while striking out 6...Recalled from Omaha on May 26...posted a 12.46 ERA in 3 outings (4.1 IP, 5 H, 6 ER) before being optioned to Omaha on June 7...Recalled from Omaha on July 18 and made a pair of appearances before being optioned on July 24...Recalled for the remainder of the season on Aug. 1...was 2-0 with a 5.79 ERA (23.1 IP, 32 H, 15 ER) in 14 outings after his final recall...Earned 2 wins in a span of 3 appearances, tossing 2.2 shutout innings on Aug. 16 at Texas to pick up his first Major League victory in a 6-2 KC win and recording another 2.2-inning outing on Aug. 29 vs. Detroit in a 5-0 Royals victory...Tossed a career-high 3.1 innings in his fi nal appearance of the season on Sept. 25 at Chicago...allowed no runs on 2 hits and 2 walks, striking out 2.

Opened the season with Wichita (AA) before being promoted to Omaha (AAA) on July 13...promoted to Kansas City on Sept. 1...Went 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA in 9 appearances for the Royals...allowed 13 hits in 10.2 innings, walking 3 and striking out 6...Did not allow a run in 3 appearances on the road (5.2 IP), but posted a 14.40 ERA in 6 home outings (5.0 IP, 9 H, 8 ER)...Made his Major League debut on Sept. 2 vs. Chicago...allowed 1 hit in a scoreless inning...recorded his 1st career strikeout on Sept. 9 at Boston, striking out David Ortiz...Opened his Major League career recording 4-straight scoreless outings (5.2 IP) before allowing runs in his next 4 appearances (3.0 IP, 8 ER)...ended the year equaling his career high by tossing 2.0 scoreless innings with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts on Oct. 1 at Detroit...Suffered his 1st Major League loss on Sept. 15 vs. Seattle, allowing 3 runs on 3 hits in just 0.2 innings...Recorded a 1-6 record with 10 saves and a 2.21 ERA in 26 relief appearances for Wichita and was named to the Texas League All-Star squad...allowed just 30 hits and 10 earned runs in 40.2 innings...struck out 58 while walking 16... was 0-2 with 3 saves and a 2.16 ERA in 17 games for Omaha, allowing just 23 hits and 6 earned runs in 25.0 innings.
