Jarrett Lee Hoffpauir (HOFF-power)...played college ball at Southern Mississippi...in final season (2004) at Southern Miss, hit .405 and set school single-season marks with 109 hits, 92 RBI and 12 sac flies...thus, was named first-team All-Conference USA, first-team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, second-team All-American by USA Today/Sports Weekly and third-team All-American by TPX/Louisville Slugger...was also a semifinalist for the Dick Howser Trophy and the Golden Spikes Award, given annually to the top collegiate player in the nation... as a frosh in 2002, was named to Collegiate Baseball's Al-Freshman team...played baseball and football at Vidalia (LA) High...in high school, was coached by father, Johnny Lee...was named All-State in both sports...older brother, Josh, was drafted by the Marlins in the 70th round in 1996...Josh was an infielder who hit .280 in 5 professional seasons (2000-04) in the Athletics, Orioles and Rangers systems...he is currently the Head Baseball Coach at Pearl River (MS) Community College.

2011

After being claimed off waivers by the Padres at the end of the '10 season, posted 33 extra-base hits, including 26 doubles, in only campaign with Tucson of the Triple-A Pacific Coast League...did not join Tucson until mid May due to a quad injury suffered during Spring Training...was shifted to the 60-Day DL by the Padres on May 6 as catcher Kyle Phillips was recalled...was hitting .356 through June 13, but struggled thereafter (.251).

2010

Played in 13 games with the Blue Jays, making 10 starts at third base and one at second base...spent the majority of the season at Triple-A Las Vegas...Recalled from Las Vegas on 6/20 and made his Blue Jays debut 6/21, going 1-for-3 with a run scored vs. STL...Appeared in nine Big League games before being optioned back to Las Vegas on 7/2...recalled 9/5 and spent the remainder of the season with the Blue Jays...Led Las Vegas with 107 games played, 431 at-bats, 127 hits and 58 walks...Hit for the cycle on two occasions (4/25 and 5/28), becoming the first minor leaguer since Joe Koshansky in 2008 with Colorado Springs to have two cycles in the same season.

2009

Spent the majority of his season with Memphis (AAA) in the Pacific Coast League, posting a career high with 14 home runs... BOMBS AWAY: Recorded two multi-homer games, while adding five RBI on June 9... Had two seven-game hitting streaks, including one to end the season... Batted .348 over June/July with nine home runs and 29 RBI... ML DEBUT: On July 3, 2009 made his debut as a pinch-hitter in the 8th inning, drawing a walk off Arthur Rhodes... Drove in two runs with a single in the 9th inning of the same game... In total appeared in eight games collecting three hits in 12 at-bats, starting two games at second base.

2008

Spent the entire season playing second base for the Triple-A Memphis team... Appeared in 105 games at 2nd and was the DH eight times, six of those coming in the last month of the season... Was the fifth-straight season in which he recorded fewer strikeouts (45) than walks (49)... Batted .301 (89-296) before the All-Star break compared to .202 after the break (23-114)... His best month came in June when he hit .366 (30-82)... Drove in a season-best 14 runs in August... Led the Memphis club with a career high 31 doubles.

2007

Began his year with Springfield (AA) before a mid-season promotion to Memphis (AAA) on 7/4...hit a career-high .323 combined between the two clubs with 11 home runs and 57 RBI... Continued his string of fewer strikeouts than walks for a fourth-straight season, walking 55 times compared to 39 K's combined... Was the Texas League Player of the Week for June 18-24 when he hit in all seven games, batting .519 (14-27)... That stretch led into a 13-game hitting streak (.469, 23-49) and a promotion to Triple-A... Was competing for the Texas League's batting title at the time of his promotion... Hit .320 (33-103) at Memphis during the month of August... While at Triple-A had a .393 average (11-38) with runners on and two outs and was a .396 hitter with runners in scoring position (19-48)... His average increased to .474 (9-19) with runners in scoring position and two outs... Played the majority of his games at second base, but appeared at third in six games for Memphis and at shortstop in four games at Triple-A and one at Double-A... Committed just 10 errors, his lowest season total since turning pro... Played in the Arizona Fall League appearing in 16 games, hitting .236, walking 12 times with four K's

2006

Spent the year at Double-A Springfield, where he ranked second in the Texas League with a strikeout every 11.22 plate appearances...fanned just 41 times in 393 at-bats...Third straight season with more walks (54) than strikeouts (41).

2005

Split the season between Single-A affiliates in Quad Cities and Palm Beach, playing in a combined 124 games...Ranked fifth among STL minor leaguers with 129 hits and 53 walks...His 26 doubles tied for sixth most in the STL minor league system.

2004

Split his first professional season between Short-A New Jersey and Single-A Peoria...hit a combined .281 with 23 doubles, one triple, eight home runs, 36 RBI and 42 runs scored in 71 games between the two clubs.
