Played for Hyannis in the Cape Cod League during the summer of 2003...Was a 2nd-Team Conference USA selection as a junior at the University of Memphis in 2004...That year, batted .296 (61-for-206) with 16 doubles, 9 home runs and 37 RBI.
2010
Spent the entire season with Detroit's Triple-A affiliate in Toledo...Placed among Toledo leaders in games (2nd, 117), at-bats (2nd, 450), hits (2nd, 116), total bases (3rd, 162), doubles (T-3rd, 22), stolen bases (T-2nd, 12) and runs (4th, 52)...Topped the Mud Hens with 100 games at shortstop...Combined for a .947 fielding percentage (25 E/469 TC) at short, third base (14 games) and second base (2 games)...Went deep 6 times, all in a 35-game stretch from 4/30-6/7...Reached safely in all but 4 games in that time...Turned in a pair of 4-hit efforts, 4/16 at Indianapolis (4-for-5, R, 2B, RBI) and 6/21 at Louisville (4-for-5, 2B, 2 RBI)...Ranked 3rd in the International League with a career-high 149 strikeouts...Season came to an early end on 8/20 when he was placed on the DL with a left oblique strain.

Spent the majority of the season at Single A Lakeland before having his contract transferred to Triple A Toledo on September 3...Tied for fifth in the Florida State League with six triples for Lakeland...led the league with 144 strikeouts...Topped all league shortstops with 423 assists and 92 double plays...Batted .357 (25x70) over a 17-game stretch July 18- August 4...Hit .343 (36x105) with 13 runs scored, seven doubles, two triples, a home run and 12 RBI in 27 games during July...Saw action in 10 games during the International League playoffs for Toledo, batting .207 (6x29) with three runs scored, a double and two RBI.
