Matthew Michael Macri...wife Megan (McGinty)...2001 graduate of Dowling (IA) High School...attended University of Notre Dame and played 17 games as a freshman before undergoing "Tommy John" surgery on April 10, 2002...was named Second Team All-America by Baseball America, USA Today and Collegiate Baseball Magazine in 2004...led the conference in four offensive categories and was named All-Big East and Big East Conference Tournament MVP.

Began season at Triple-A Rochester...disabled with left calf strain, April 29-May 15...recalled May 23...was 4-for-7 (.571) in three games before being optioned to Rochester, June 4...recalled June 6...had five-game hit-streak, going 6-for-18 (.333), June 6-18...hit first Major League home run off Aaron Laffey, June 12 at Cleveland...optioned to Rochester on June 22 and hit .444 (12-for-27) with three home runs and 10 rbi from June 28-July 4...had two-homer game, August 13 vs. Syracuse with four rbi...21 multi-hit games and played all four infield positions at Rochester (35 games at SS, 30 games at 2B, 16 games at 3B and six at 1B) prior to being recalled by Minnesota on September 2...played in four games in September for the Twins, totaling four hitless at-bats.
