Kevin G. Richardson...Graduated from Gonzaga University in 2002 with a degree in Business Management...Originally signed by Rangers' scout Greg Whitworth...Selected to 2007 Texas League South Division All-Star Team.
2009
Made his major league debut late in the year and spent the rest of the season with Triple-A Oklahoma City...had 2 stints with Rangers...contract was purchased from Oklahoma City on Aug. 15 when Jarrod Saltalamacchia was placed on the disabled list...was designated for assignment on Aug. 18 when club acquired Ivan Rodriguez from Houston...contract was purchased again on Sept. 1 as a September call-up...appeared in 4 total games with one start for Texas, going 3-for-6 (.500) with no extra base hits or RBI, no walks and 2 strikeouts...only career start was his major league debut on Aug. 17 vs. Minnesota, going 2-for-4 with a run scored in Rangers' 8-5 win...struck out in first inning against Francisco Liriano, but then hit a leadoff single in the 3rd inning off Bobby Keppel...hit another single with 2 outs in the 7th against Matt Guerrier, then scored on an Elvis Andrus triple...with the 2 hits on Aug. 17, Richardson joined the "Sultan of Block" Chad Kreuter (Sept. 14, 1988 at Oakland) as the only catchers in team history with multiple hits in a big league debut...was his only game in his first stint with Texas...also saw action Sept. 16 vs. Oakland (caught 9th inning), Sept. 24 at Oakland (0-for-1, 3 innings behind plate), and Sept. 26 vs. Tampa Bay (1-for-1 with run scored, 2 innings as catcher).
2008
Appeared in 55 games behind the plate for Oklahoma (AAA), 2nd most on the club to Taylor Teagarden (57)...had a .990 (4 E/386 TC) fielding percentage...had a season high 8-game hitting streak from April 8-30 at .333 (9-27)...hit 3 homers in first 12 games with just 3 in his final 43 contests...hit .390 (16-41) off left-handers...appeared in one post-season game without taking an at bat.
2007
Appeared in 91 games at Frisco (AA)...was selected to the Texas League South Division All-Star Team after slugging 10 home runs and 35 RBI in first 'half' of season...homered twice on April 15 at Springfield and drove in season-high 4 runs on May 11 vs. Corpus Christi...went 4-for-11 (.364) with 8 RBI with the bases loaded.
2006
Established career best with 17 homers, 3rd most on the club, at Frisco...was also 3rd in triples (3)...hit .378 with 10 home runs against left-handers.
2005
Combined for a .276 (72- 261) average with 12 doubles, 8 home runs and 48 RBI in 74 games at Clinton (A) and Frisco...recorded season-high 4 RBI on May 22 at Wisconsin...placed on Clinton disabled list with a broken knuckle on his right hand on July 7...was promoted to Frisco on July 20.
2004
Placed 2nd on Clinton club with 13 home runs while establishing career highs for games (100), at-bats (345), doubles (19), and RBI (55)...homered in consecutive games twice, June 16-18 and July 29-30.
2003
Batted .251 with 6 homers and 30 RBI in 54 games at Clinton and Spokane (short-season A)...hit .164 in 22 games at Clinton before being assigned to Spokane in June...led the Indians with a .429 (6-14) average, 2 home runs and 6 RBI in the post-season.
2002
Made professional debut at Pulaski (rookie)...connected for first pro homer, Aug. 11 vs. Johnson City.
