Vincent Antonio Rottino
Vincent Antonio (Vinny) Rottino graduated from St. Catherine's High School (WI)... Played baseball and soccer...Graduated from the University of Wisconsin-LaCroisse in 2002 with a degree in chemistry...He was the WIAC Conference Player of the Year and the runner-up in the Division III Player of the Year voting in 2002...After graduation, he attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison to become a pharmacist for a semester before attending a tryout and eventually signing with the Milwaukee Brewers.
2011
Spent the majority of the season with New Orleans (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League...Joined the Marlins for eight games in September...Made one start in rightfield, September 10 at Pittsburgh...Also played one game in leftfield...For New Orleans, he saw action as a catcher, at first base, leftfield and rightfield...Compiled a .373 (38-102) batting mark in 26 games in May...Also scored 21 runs...In addition, in 29 contests in August, hit .345 (39-113) with eight doubles, a triple, four home runs and 20 RBI...Fashioned a .353 (42-119) batting average vs. lefthanded pitching...Went 5-6 at Oklahoma City on June 17...Also went 4-5 at Albuquerque on April 24...Also had 29 games with two hits and 10 games with three hits...Knocked in four runs at Iowa City on May 9...Scored four runs at Tucson on August 6...Had an 11-game hitting streak from June 28-July 9 (14-46, .304)...Also had three, nine-game hitting streaks: April 18-April 30; May 23-June 1 and July 31-August 9...Stole two bases vs. Memphis on May 3 and at Iowa on May 6.

Began his eighth professional season at triple-A New Orleans, posting a .375 average with two triples and one RBI in five games with the Zephyrs ... Transferred to double-A Jacksonville and spent the remainder of the season with the Suns...Posted a .307 average with 27 doubles, one triple, eight home runs, 69 RBI and 22 stolen bases in 116 games ... Saw time at catcher, first base, left field, right field and designated hitter. As a left fielder, hit .336 (78x232) with 16 doubles, six home runs and 46 RBI ... Among Marlins' farmhands, ranked second in average (.308) and on-base percentage (.384), third in runs (67), hits (133), walks (53) and stolen bases (22) and fourth in RBI (70) ... Posted a .247 average (40x162) over his first 45 games, tallying two home runs while driving in 19 runs. Over his final 71 games, boasted a .343 average (93x271) with six homers and 50 RBI ... In 29 games during the month of August, owned a .359 average (42x117) with 25 runs scored, nine doubles, two home runs and 17 RBI ... On June 18 at Birmingham, drove in three runs to mark a season-high. He would equal the mark five more times throughout the remainder of the season ... Tallied at least one RBI in eight consecutive games from July 9-19. Over the streak, marked a total of 15 RBI, including three three-RBI contests ... Posted a season-best four hits in a 4x4 effort on August 18 at West Tennessee. He doubled and homered in the game, while driving in three runs ... That game started a 14-game hit streak in which he hit .393 (22x56) with seven doubles, one home run and five RBI ... Finished the regular season by tallying at least one hit in 17 of 19 games. In the two hitless games he drew a total of four walks and scored twice ... Hit .323 (43x133) against left-handed pitching. His averaged dipped slightly to .300 (90x300) against righties.

Spent the majority of 2009 with double-A Huntsville in the Brewers organization before being traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers on July 31 in exchange for RHP Claudio Vargas. Reported to double-A Chattanooga where he hit .315 with five doubles and seven RBI in 31 games for the Lookouts...With Huntsville, posted a .249 average wtih 13 doubles, four home runs and 28 RBI in 98 games...Posted a season-best three hits on April 20 at Chattanooga. Equaled the mark on June 15 vs. Jacksonville...Connected for his first home run of the season on May 24 vs West Tennessee. Homered again two days later on May 26 at Tennessee...Hit in eight straight games from July 17 to July 25...Appeared at catcher, first base, third base, left field and right field...Hit .313 (36x115) with one home run and 44 RBI with runners in scoring position...Upon his arrival to Chattanooga, hit .533 (8x15) over his first eight games...Drew 15 walks compared to only eight strikeouts, reaching base at a .427 clip. On the season, drew more walks (62) than times he struck out (53)...Following the season, appeared in 29 games for the Toros del Este of the Dominican Winter League, batting .231 (18x78) with three doubles, a triple and four RBI...Prior to the season, played for Team Italy in the World Baseball Classic. Appeared in two games, marking one hit in four at-bats.
2008
In 2008, marked his third September callup to the Major League level with Milwaukee...had only one appearance, batting as a pinch-hitter on September 19 at Cincinnati. In 2008, had a 24-game hitting streak from May 20 to June 16, batting .368 (32x87) with seven RBI...streak tied the longest in the Pacific Coast League that season (Iowa's Andres Torres)...earned Pacific Coast League All-Star honors.
2007
Was a September callup in 2007 for Milwaukee, batting .222 (2x9) with three RBI in eight games, all off the bench...on September 29 vs. San Diego, ended the game with an 11th-inning, pinch-hit walk-off single...following the season played for Azucareros in the Dominican Winter League. Spent the majority of 2007 with triple-A Nashville, earning Pacific Coast League All-Star honors, finishing the season with a .289 average, 12 home runs and 53 RBI over 107 games.
2006
Spent most of the season at Triple-A Nashville, where he batted .314 with 7 HR, 42 RBI and 12 stolen bases in 117 games. ... Contract was purchased by the Brewers on 9/1 and he went 3-for-14 with 1 RBI in 9 games with the Brewers. ... Utility man made 3 starts (2g at 3B, 1g in LF). ... Made his Major League debut on 9/1 vs. Florida and struck out as a pinch-hitter (Joe Borowski) to end the game. Recorded his first Major League hit two days later vs. Florida with an infield single off Matt Herges. ... Was selected to play for the Scottsdale Scorpions of the Arizona Fall League.
2005
Began the season with Double-A Huntsville before being promoted to Triple-A Nashville on August 23...Hit .296 with six home runs and 52 RBI in 120 games with Huntsville of the Southern League...Named to the Southern League Mid-Season All-Star Team...Played five defensive positions over the course of the year...Played 22 games at catcher, 21 games at first base, 63 games at third base, four games in left field, six games in right field, three games as a designated hitter and made four pinch-hit appearances with Huntsville with 10 RBI in the month of August...Enjoyed a nine-game hitting streak from April 30 - May 10 that included four multi-hit games...Plated a season-high four RBI twice, June 7 and May 13 and recorded home runs in each of those games...Made his Triple A debut with Nashville of the Pacific Coast League on August 23...Ended his season on a five-game hitting streak...hit .345 in nine games with the Sounds...Played two games at catcher, one game at first base, five games at third base and one game in left field for Nashville.
2004
Spent the entire season at Class A Beloit of the Midwest League where he hit .304 for the Snappers...Hit 17 home runs and plated 124 runs...is RBI total led the Midwest League...Played 11 games at first base, four games at second base, 13 games at third base, 31 games as an outfielder, five games as a catcher and one game as a pitcher...Pitched one inning of relief for the Snappers, striking out one batter on September 6 against Peoria...did not factor in the decision.
2003
His first professional season was as a member of Helena of the Poneer League where he hit .311...Hit in nine consecutive games from July 11 - July 19...seven of the nine games were multi-hit games...Hit .361 in July...Played 11 games at catcher, 30 games at first base, 25 games at third base, two games at shortstop, four games in left field and one game in right field.
