Stephen Robert Holm...graduated from McClatchy (CA) High School...same school former Major Leaguer's Larry Bowa, Nick Johnson and Rowland Office attended...attended American River (CA) College and Oral Roberts (OK) University...earned third-team All-American honors during junior year at Oral Roberts, while finishing seventh in the NCAA in 2000 with a .437 batting average...drafted by the Giants as a shortstop.
2011
Was a Spring Training invite in his first season in the Twins organization...reassigned to minor league camp, March 23 and spent his first season in the Twins organization...Had his contract selected from Triple-A Rochester, April 15 when Joe Mauer was placed on the 15-day disabled list the previous day...Played in six games for the Twins...went 2-for-4, April 17 at Tampa Bay...optioned to Triple-A Rochester, May 4...Batted .179 (27-for-151) with six doubles, one home run and 13 rbi in 47 games for the Red Wings...his 44 games caught led the Red Wings.
2010
Spent the season with Triple-A Fresno, splitting time at catcher with eventual National League Rookie of the Year, Buster Posey...Drove in four runs on two separate occasions: June 7 vs. Sacramento and June 11 at Tacoma...Caught 22 games in June (Posey recalled to Giants, May 29) and batted .333 (19-for-57) with six doubles, 17 rbi, 11 runs scored and 12 walks...Placed on the disabled list with a jaw contusion, August 28...reinstated from disabled list, September 4 and played in two games.
2009
Began season at Triple A, but was quickly recalled to parent club April 22...was 2-for-7 while serving as spot-catcher for 4 games...handled 4 Giants pitchers over 10.0 scoreless innings May 3 vs. Colorado...after appearing in just 3 more games was optioned to Fresno May 21 where he spent majority of year...hit .242 (48-for-198) with 6 HRs and 16 RBI in 63 games for Grizzlies...combined for .364 avg. (32-for-88) in May and June, however hit just .174 (16-for-92) over final 3 months...was designated for assignment June 16, but cleared waivers and accepted outright assignment June 19 at Fresno...called Ramon Ortiz's complete-game shutout Aug. 4 at Tacoma and also contributed to victory by hitting pair of solo home runs...homered in 5 of his final 13 games.
2008
Was invited to Giants' Spring Training and made the Opening Day roster for the first time in his career...was the club's back-up catcher for the majority of the season...made his Major League debut as a pinch-runner, April 4 at Milwaukee...doubled off Ben Sheets for first Major League hit, April 6 vs. Milwaukee...hit safely in 10 of his first 16 starts, batting .212 (11-for-52) with five doubles and two rbi...drove in the tying run with two outs in the ninth inning, May 21 at Colorado...first career home run of J.C. Romero, May 11 vs. Philadelphia...optioned to Triple-A Fresno, July 1 and played in 11 games...recalled July 23 and played seven games for the Giants...optioned to Fresno, August 13 and played 11 games before being recalled again, September 1...threw out two of 23 opposing base runners, while pitchers posted a 4.67 ERA (210.0 ip, 109 er) with him behind the plate for the Giants...went 3-for-7 with two doubles and one rbi as a pinch-hitter.
2007
Spent the season at Double-A Connecticut...named to Eastern League All-Star team...led the club with 69 games played (all at catcher) and posted a .991 fielding percentage with just four errors...elected free agency on October 29 and re-signed with the Giants, December 17.
2006
Posted best offensive campaign of career, hitting .258 with 15 HRs and 30 RBI in 69 contests for single-A San Jose...led club in home runs...established career standards in HRs, runs (44), 2Bs (13) and slugging (.511)...logged 52 contests behind plate and owned .998 fielding mark (2 errors)...caught all 5 of San Jose's California League playoff contests, hitting .278 (5-for-18) with 2B and 2 RBI.

Spent majority of campaign with single-A Augusta, before closing year at double-A Norwich...combined to hit .231 (46-for-199) with 8 2Bs, 5 HRs and career-high 33 RBI in 67 contests.

Spent the season with Single-A San Jose...hit .306 (11-for-36) with three doubles, four home runs, seven rbi, nine runs scored and 13 walks in 13 games in June...hit nine home runs after hitting just one during his first three seasons.
