Underwent season-ending surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder on 6/27. The procedure was performed by Dr. James Andrews in Gulf Breeze, Fla. Hit .368 (14-for-38) in 20 games in June, compiling four RBI and scoring eight runs while tallying a pair of doubles, a triple and a home run. His three home runs set a new career high and marked his first career multi-homer season after logging single-home-run seasons in 2009 and 2011 with the Yankees. Launched a two-run home run in the 10th inning on 4/12 at WSH, propelling Atlanta to a 6-4 win. Logged time defensively at third base (32 games, 1.000 fielding), second base (10 games, 1.000 fielding) and shortstop (seven games, 1.000 fielding). Hit .273 as a pinch hitter, tallying three hits in 11 at-bats and scoring one run.
2012
Split his eighth season in the New York Yankees organization between Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and New York. Played 101 games with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and three games with the Yankees...Started in one game for New York, July 31 vs. BAL (1-for-4)...Ranked among Scranton/WB team leaders in sacrifice hits (second, four), games played (tied for second, 101), triples (tied for second, three), at-bats (third, 360) and hits (fourth, 93)...During July, hit .328 with two triples, 10 runs scored and five RBI...After hitting .237 with Scranton/WB prior to the Triple-A All-Star Break, finished the year with a .303 average to raise his season average to .258...Made appearances at second base (18 games, .986 fielding), third base (16 games, .975 fielding) and shortstop (69 games, .974 fielding) for Scranton/WB...Following the season, played for Tomateros de Culiacan of the Mexican Pacific League. Was limited to 52 games with Double-A Trenton due to injuries, batting .252 with 7 doubles, 1 triple and 10RBI...Went on the disabled list from 5/24-6/1 with a groin strain... returned on 6/2 and played in 11 more games
before his season was cut short on 6/14 with a dislocated right shoulder... suffered the injury on 6/13 vs.
Connecticut, sliding into second base in the seventh inning.
2006
Endured three stints on the disabled list and batted .257 in 80 combined games with Double-A Trenton and
Single-A Tampa...Began the season with Trenton and batted .198 in 26 games... was placed on the disabled list on 5/11 after
suffering a right knee contusion on 5/10 at Portland... was reinstated from the D.L. on 5/24 and transferred
to Tampa... played in 51 games before suffering a sprained right ankle on 7/20 vs. Palm Beach... was placed
on the D.L. the next day and missed a week of action... was reinstated on 7/28 and played in three games
