Blake was acquired from the Dodgers with two minor leaguers, July 31, 2010, for P Ted Lilly and INF Ryan Theriot...was designated for assignment, February 6, 2012, and outrighted to Triple-A Iowa, February 20...Owns a career .260 average (283-for-1,087) with 51 doubles, 11 triples, 21 homers and 134 RBI since making his big league debut in 2008 with the Dodgers...Boasts a .290 career batting average (58-for-200) off southpaws...In his career, has appeared at second base (173 games), shortstop (two games), third base (124 games) and made his debut in the outfield in 2011, playing 23 contests in left field (17 starts)...In 2011, his 10 pinch-RBI ranked tied for third in the majors...Made the Opening Day roster in 2008 after originally not being invited to big league camp during Spring Training...Was the club's Opening Day third baseman in 2008, but ended the year as the team's everyday second baseman...Prior to 2008, had not played above Double-A level...On November 20, 2008, was featured speaker at the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce's November luncheon, where he was presented a key to the city by Mayor Mike Marshall...Was the Dodgers first round pick (28th overall) in the 2004 draft...Was named a Baseball America First-Team All-American after his senior season at Sikeston, hitting .558 with 15 homers and 48 RBI...Participated in the 2011 Cubs Caravan.
