Pitched in the Reds and Brewers chains, and enjoyed a strong stint (0.63 ERA in 14 relief appearances) with Sugar Land of the independent Atlantic League...posted a 3.92 ERA in 19 combined appearances with the Brewers' and Reds' Triple-A affiliates in Nashville and Louisville, respectfully...pitched in one game and tossed 1.0 scoreless inning of relief for Este in the Dominican Winter League, Dec. 11 vs. Aguilas.

Returned to original organization and appeared in 60 games Bruce Bochy's World Champion Giants...posted a 8 holds and 3 saves (Aug. 18 at SDP, June 23 at OAK, April 20 at NYM), but was not a member of the Giants' postseason roster (NLDS, NLCS or World Series)...worked scoreless relief for the 3 saves, all of which occurred on the road in one-run contests...recorded a 3.66 ERA in 37 games before the All-Star break, 6.27 in 23 appearances after...4 of 5 home runs allowed were solo shots.

Began 2010 on his third Opening Day roster and first since 2007 while with San Diego. Appeared
in a career-high 68 games, sporting a 3-4 record with seven saves (10 opportunities) and a 2.16
ERA. Walked 29 while striking out 77. He led all Marlin relievers in ERA and strikeouts, while ranking
11th in ERA and 13th in strikeouts among all National League relievers ... Began the season by not allowing an earned run over his first 15 home appearances (allowed an
unearned run in his first home appearance on April 9 vs. Los Angeles). Did not allow an earned
run at Sun Life Stadium until June 1 vs. Milwaukee ... He earned his first win of the year on April 11 against Los Angeles, tossing 2.0 scoreless innings of
relief. Dropped his next four decisions before earning his second win on August 7 vs. St. Louis ... On April 28 vs. San Diego, struck out six of seven total batters faced (one hit by pitch). In his next
game, on April 30 vs. Washington, tallied a career-high in strikeouts as a reliever with seven.
Tossed a season-high 3.0 innings in the game. The seven strikeouts were the most ever in a single
game by a Marlins reliever ... Missed 17 games with a strained neck muscle, landing on the 15-day DL on June 18 (retro to June
12). He was returned from rehab and activated on July 2 ... Allowed a season-high three runs on July 19 vs. Colorado. Surrendered two runs in a single outing
only three times; April 5 at New York, April 24 at Colorado and June 8 at Philadelphia ... Following his July 19 appearance, he allowed just five runs over his final 33 outings. He did not
allow a single run from August 25 on, tossing 18.0 scoreless innings over his final 17 games. In that
time he was seven for seven in save opportunities and allowed just eight hits ... He recorded his first career save on September 10 at Washington, entering the game with two
outs in the eighth inning. Saved all three games of the series against the Nationals, becoming
the first Marlins closer to save each game in a three-game series since Armando Benitez did so
against the Phillies from April 9-11, 2004.

Began his eighth professional season with triple-A Round Rock, going 1-0 with a 7.20 ERA in six
games (one start) for the Express. Signed by the Marlins as a minor league free agent on May 13,
reporting to triple-A New Orleans...With the Zephyrs, posted a 8-4 mark and 3.24 ERA, including one complete game shutout, in 19
starts. He led the club in strikeouts (82), ranked second in wins and third in inning pitched (114.0)...Tossed his seventh career minor league complete game on August 29 at Omaha, surrendering
just four hits with two walks and strikeouts...10 of his 19 starts qualified as quality starts (6.0 IP/3 ER or less)...In 11 starts at home, posted a 7-2 record and 2.38 ERA (72.0 IP/19 ER). On the road, went 1-2 with
one complete game and a 4.71 ERA (42.0 IP/22 ER) in eight starts...Posted identical 4-2 records prior to and after the All-Star break. Before the break, owned a 2.89

DOWN ON THE FARM: In 13 starts overall for Triple-A Portland , went 2-7 with a 6.72 ERA (53 ER/71.0

PLAYOFF PROWESS: Tossed 2.2 innings of scoreless relief in the 2006 Division Series against the St.

Made his Major League debut on July 20 at New York
(NL) and tossed 2.0 scoreless innings...blanked the Phillies for 2.0 innings in his next outing July 22...in all,
he pitched 2.0 or more innings on 14 accounts, including one start...his one start came Sept. 10 at Los
Angeles when he took the tough luck loss as he tossed 5.0 innings, allowing just one earned run...made 24
appearances for the Padres, posting a team-low 1.70 ERA (9 ER/47.2 IP).
GETTING THE FIRST ONE: Picked up his first Major League win on Sept. 27 vs. San Francisco...
threw 3.2 scoreless innings of relief.
PRODUCTION IN PORTLAND: Made his 2005 debut at Triple-A Portland on April 26 and pitched 1.0
inning of relief..moved to the starting rotation on May 2...appeared in 15 games (14 starts) and posted a

victory in the second game of a July 17 doubleheader at West Tennessee...At the plate, batted .214 (9-for-42) with two doubles,

perfect game in the 10-year history of the Hagerstown Suns on May 3 vs. Kannapolis...struck out a career high
10 batters and threw 59 of 81 pitches for strikes en route to a 2-0 victory...was helped in the perfect
game bid, the second in the minors in 2003, by not allowing a ball to be hit out of the infield...went on to win
three consecutive starts May 3-14...tossed 7.0 scoreless innings for a 5-0 win in the second game of a June
8 doubleheader at Lakewood...was promoted to San Jose June 18 and made five starts with the Cal League
Giants before being acquired by the Padres...finished the season with Lake Elsinore, where he posted his
