Brooks Steven Brown...wife's name is Rachel...one daughter, Riley...is a 2003 graduate of Portal (GA) High School, where he struck out a school record 162 batters in 81.0 innings as a senior...was also the quarterback of the football team for four years...attended the University of Georgia, where he appeared in the College World Series in 2006...posted an 8-3 record, 4.07 ERA and 123 strikeouts in 19 starts as a junior at Georgia in 2006...was originally selected by Arizona as a sandwich pick (34th overall) in the 2006 First-Year Player Draft.

2014

Brown led the Rockies pitching staff with a 2.77 ERA (26.0 IP, 8 ER) over 28 combined appearances throughout the 2014 season...he held opponents to a .208 clip (20-for-96) and allowed just four extra-base hits (4.2 percent of the time)...made three different stints on the ML roster...Had his contract purchased on July 6 and made his Major League debut that day vs. Los Angeles-NL (appeared in the May 22 vs. San Francisco continuation game)...began the season with Triple-A Colorado Springs after being acquired as a free agent in the offseason...made 31 relief appearances for the Sky Sox, going 1-0 with a 4.35 ERA (39.1 IP, 19 ER) and six saves to begin the year before joining Colorado...Pitched 1.0 or more innings in 19 of his 28 relief appearances and didn't allow a hit in 13 of his total appearances...closed out the season with a 12 appearance scoreless streak (9.1 IP, 4 H, 0 BB, 6 SO)...first batters hit just .115 (3-for-26, BB, SH) off of him...In 37 games for the Sky Sox over the course of the year, he went 1-1 with a 4.18 ERA (47.1 IP, 22 ER), 17 walks and 46 strikeouts...Following his final recall of the season on Aug. 16, he held a 0.57 ERA (15.2 IP, 1 ER) in his final 17 games of the season.

2013

Brown spent the entire season with Triple-A Indianapolis Indians (Pittsburgh) and made the fourth-most appearances on the team...Appeared in 37 games/8 starts for the Indians and went 6-5 with a 4.75 ERA (91.0 IP, 48 ER) and finished eight games...Gave up 11 home runs for the second consecutive year...it was the third-straight season allowing 10 or more home runs...Pitched well out of the bullpen, with a 2.95 ERA and 1.12 WHIP...as a starter, though, he had a 7.91 ERA and opponents hit .328 against him.

2012

Spent entire season with Toledo (Tigers' AAA)...Went 4-4 with a 4.68 ERA (92.1IP/48ER) in 19 starts and 0-0 with a 5.95 ERA (19.2IP/13ER) in 10 relief appearances...Surrendered four home runs in April (17.0IP) but just seven during the rest of the year (95.0IP)...Was charged with a season-high seven runs, but won his first decision in his start on 4/24 at Columbus...Lost three straight decisions from 5/11 to 6/25...Snapped three-game losing streak with 5.0 scoreless innings in start on 7/20 vs. Indianapolis...Made each of his last 10 appearances as a member of the starting rotation...Whiffed a season-high tying seven batters while earning final win on 8/23 at Columbus...Won three of his last four decisions to finish the season.

2011

Missed two months of the 2011 campaign with right shoulder impingement syndrome...recorded each of his two career saves with Erie in 2010 - on 4/18 and 5/7.

2010

Was named Erie's Pitcher of the Year in 2010 while also being named to the Eastern League mid-season All-Star team...tossed an Eastern League leading four complete games in 2010 while also finishing tied for the league lead with two shutouts and tied for second with 12 wins.

2009

Acquired by the Tigers on 4/2/09 and was named the organization's Pitcher-of-the-Month for April after going 2-0 without allowing a run in 17.2 innings for Double-A Erie.

2008

Was named to the Southern League's mid-season All-Star team in 2008 while pitching with Mobile.

2007

Was named to the 2007 California League mid-season All-Star team...began the 2007 campaign without allowing a home run in his first 12 starts before surrendering a first-inning bomb to Bakersfield's John Mayberry Jr. on 6/10.
