Jeffrey Philip Fiorentino...graduated from Nova High School in Davie, Florida in 2001...hit .512 and led the county in home runs (12), RBI (42) and runs scored (42) as a senior, earning All-County, All-State and the South Florida Sun-Sentinel's Broward County Player of the Year honors...was drafted by the Blue Jays in the 21st round of the June draft but opted to attend Florida Atlantic University, where he was named to the Atlantic Sun All-Freshman team and the Louisville Slugger Honorable Mention All-American team...as a sophomore at FAU was All-Conference, second team All-Atlantic Region and was selected to the A-Sun All-Tournament team...as a junior was All-Conference after hitting .348 with 17 home runs and 66 RBI...left FAU as its all-time leader in total bases (409), ranked second in home runs (44) and runs scored (204) and third in walks (110)...played for the Cotuit Kettleers in the Cape Cod League in 2003.

2011

Began the season in the Baltimore organization but was traded to Atlanta May 3...combined to hit .255 with eight home runs and 37 RBI in 113 games with Double-A Bowie, Double-A Mississippi and Triple-A Gwinett...added 44 walks for a .339 on-base percentage...was successful in 6-of-7 (85.7%) stolen base attempts...hit .271 (64-for-236) with seven of his eight home runs and 27 of 37 RBI against right-handed pitching, compared to .200 (14-for-70) against left-handers...batted .293 with runners in scoring position...appeared in 56 games in center field, 26 in left field and 16 in right field...hit in every spot in the order except clean-up...saw his most action with 33 games batting eighth.

MINORS: Started the season with Bowie in the Orioles farm system, hitting .250 in 20 games...hit .375 on the road compared to .156 at home...hit .229 over his first 11 games...then collected a season-high three hits April 21 at Erie...drove in three runs that day and had three more in his next game April 23 at Erie, giving him 13 RBI over his first 13 games...went 1-for-12 with six walks over his final seven games with the BaySox...was traded to the Braves organization May 3 and was assigned to Mississippi where he hit .238 in 13 games...had season-highs with two doubles and three runs scored in his first game May 5 at Chattanooga...was transferred to Triple-A Gwinnett May 24 and spent the remainder of the season there, batting .260 in 80 games...hit .211 over his first 32 games...then went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles July 8 against Charlotte and batted .288 over his final 48 contests...matched his seasonhigh with three hits in the second game of a doubleheader July 9 against Charlotte...hit safely in a season-high four consecutive games, July 24-29 (6-for-13, .462)...drove in a season-high four runs July 29 at Durham...matched his season-high with a four-game hitting streak Aug. 23-28 (4-for-14, .286).

2010

Spent entire season in Japan with the Hiroshima Carp of the Central League...batted .246 with eight home runs and 37 RBI in 44 games.

2009

Began the season at Double-A Bowie and went 2-for-23 (.087) in seven games before he was promoted to Triple-A Norfolk April 21...hit .312 with 12 home runs and 67 RBI in 102 games with the Tides...ranked fourth in the International League in batting, earning a September call-up to Baltimore... batted .281 with one double and eight RBI in 24 games with the Orioles...including .429 with runners in scoring position and two outs, .364 against left-handed pitchers, .323 at home and .313 during the day... started 11 games in center field and five in left field...hit .350 over his first seven games and .250 over his final 17 contests...matched his career high with two RBI Sept. 6 against Texas...while at Norfolk, he led the Tides in runs (70), home runs, RBI and walks (48) and tied for the team-lead in triples (5)...hit .316 with 11 of his 12 home runs and 60 of his 67 RBI against right-handed pitching...batted .365 with runners in scoring position...had a .366 average from the fifth inning on...batted .318 when leading off an inning...appeared in 80 games in right field, 16 in center field and seven in left field...hit in every spot in the order except first...saw his most action in the three spot, batting .310 in 57 games...was on the disabled list from June 26 to July 2 with a sprained finger on his left hand...hit .358 with three home runs and 20 RBI in 28 games in July.

2008

Made the A's Opening Day roster for the trip to Japan and appeared in both games against Boston... pinch ran and played center field in both contests, but had a RBI single in his only at bat in the second game March 26...that would be his only at bat of the season as he was optioned to Sacramento March 30 prior to the resumption of the regular season...went 2 for 4 in two games with Sacramento before he was hit in the face by a thrown ball running out a ground ball...was on the disabled list from April 6 to May 20 with a broken nose...was designated for assignment May 29...was claimed off waivers by Baltimore June 5 and was assigned to the Orioles Triple-A affiliate at Norfolk...spent the remainder of the season with the Tides and hit .268 with two home runs and 25 RBI in 68 games... combined for a .268 average, two home runs and 28 RBI in 76 games overall in the minors...hit .294 against right-handed pitching and .190 against left-handers...appeared in 42 games in center field, 25 in left field, five in right field and two at first base...hit in every spot in the order except fourth and fifth and saw his most action with 29 games batting seventh...hit .217 over his first 15 games with Norfolk and .280 over his final 53 games...his longest hitting streak was a nine-game streak from July 31 to August 10 (13 for 27, .481).

2007

Spent the entire season at Double-A Bowie and batted .282 with 15 home runs and 65 RBI in 126 games...led the Baysox in walks (44)...led Eastern League outfielders with a .993 fielding percentage as he committed just two errors in 118 games...appeared in 83 games in center field, 30 in left field and five in right field...batted .303 with 14 of his 15 home runs and 57 of his 65 RBI against right-handed pitching and .217 against left-handers...had a .307 batting average from May 1 through the end of the season...hit in each of the first seven spots in the order but saw his most action with 47 games in the five spot and 41 hitting sixth...snapped a 33-game homerless streak on July 5 in the first game of the doubleheader against Akron when he homered twice against the Aeros...that began a seven-game stretch through July 16 where he hit five home runs and drove in 13 runs...had a season best eight-game hitting streak from July 23 to 31 (10 for 28, .357)...hit .325 with five home runs and 18 RBI in 22 games in July...then batted .302 with five home runs and 23 RBI in 27 games in August...played for the Arizona Fall League Champion Phoenix Desert Dogs following the season and hit .152 with three RBI in nine games...was named as the Orioles ninth best prospect by Baseball America entering the season.

2006

Spent most of the season at AA Bowie before earning a September promotion to the major leagues...Appeared in 19 games for the Orioles over the final month...Made 11 starts for the Orioles...Hit safely in 9 of his 14 games with an at-bat and collected one hit in each of his last 4 games...Had a season-high 2 hits with 2 RBI on September 14 vs. Boston...Also had 2 RBI in his season debut on September 1 at Oakland...Hit safely in his final 19 games with the Bowie before joining the Orioles, batting .435 with 4 home runs and 16 RBI...Raised his average from .241 to .275...Suffered a sprained left ankle on April 12 and missed the next 14 games...Started only 9 games in June while hampered by a strained left hamstring...Had 24 hits in his first 39 games and was batting .205 at the end of June...Hit less than .230 in each month and did not have a 3-hit game during that time...Batted .340 over his final two months with the Baysox...Hit .376 with 22 RBI in 30 games in August...Had 2 or more hits 5 times in a 6-game span, August 10-15...Homered in consecutive games, May 17-18...Played 57 games in left field at Bowie and 39 games in center field...Hit .295 with 11 home runs against right-handed pitchers and .221 with 2 home runs off left-handers.

Called up to spark a slumping club, Fiorentino appeared in the Majors less than a year after being the team's third-round pick in June 2004. He hit his first ML home run on May 20 against Philadelphia's Randy Wolf. He spent the remainder of his season with Class-A Frederick.

2004

Combined to hit .311 with 12 home runs and 48 RBI in 63 appearances at Single-A Aberdeen and Single-A Delmarva...began his professional career at Aberdeen and hit .348 in 14 games...was promoted on July 14 and hit safely in eight of his first nine games for Delmarva (.361, 4 HR, 10 RBI)...despite playing in just 49 games for the Shorebirds, he ranked third on the club with 10 home runs.
