Dustin Molleken

Attended Lethbridge (Alberta, Canada) Junior College...Is the nephew of former professional hockey player and NHL coach Lorne Molleken...Played for Team Canada in the 2009 World Cup and 2013 World Baseball Classic...Missed the entire 2004 season after undergoing "Tommy John" surgery on his right elbow.

Released by Colorado on 7/17.

2011

Began the season with Double-A Tulsa after signing with the Rockies during the offseason...signed as a Minor League free agent on 12/21/10 after spending the previous six seasons in the Pittsburgh organization...Went 4-1 with a 4.76 ERA (45.1 ip, 24 er) while converting 6-of-7 save opportunities for the Drillers...his six saves were the third-most among all Drillers...Walked just nine batters with Tulsa and one with Colorado Springs while combining for 42 strikeouts between the two...Was on the disabled list from 5/14-7/3 while with Tulsa...Finished the season going 4-0 with a 3.64 ERA (29.2 ip, 12 er) in 22 second-half appearances compared to 1-1 with a 6.89 ERA (15.2 ip, 12 er) in 13 first-half appearances...Converted four straight saves with Tulsa from 8/20-28...allowed just one run and three hits over his final 8.1 innings with the Drillers...including walking just three and striking out nine batters...Transferred to Triple-A Colorado Springs 9/5 where he made one appearance for the Sky Sox.

2010

Played the entire season for Triple-A Altoon in the Pirates organization...all 31 of his appearances came from the bullpen...held opponents scoreless in 17 of his 31 games...spent 8/7-9/19 on the disabled list.

2009

Played for Team Canada in the World Cup.

2008

Ranked second in the South Atlantic League in home runs allowed (21) and tied for third among Pirate farmhands in wins (8).

2004

Missed the entire season after undergoing Tommy John surgery on his right elbow.
