Was 1-3 with a 6.18 ERA in 7G/6GS over four stints with the Yankees in 2007 (5/7-6/1; 6/4-6/5; 7/21; 9/11-9/30)...Opponents batted .304 (34-for-112, 2HR); LH .359 (14-for-39, 1HR), RH .274 (20-for-73, 1HR)...Had his contract purchased from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on 5/7...Made his Major League debut on 5/7 vs. Seattle, recording a no-decision in a 3-2 Mariners victory (7.0IP, 3H, 1ER, 3BB)...was the first Yankees starter to toss 7.0 innings in his debut since Chien-Ming Wang threw 7.0 innings on 4/30/05 vs. Toronto...Was the sixth rookie to start for the Yankees in 2007 (following Kei Igawa, Chase Wright, Phil Hughes, Darrell Rasner and Jeff Karstens)...according to the Elias Sports Bureau, the Yankees were the first team to start six different rookies in their first 30 games of the season since the Pittsburgh Alleghenys in 1890...the only other team to do so was the Union Association's Kansas City Cowboys in 1884...Recorded his only win in his second Major League start on 5/12 at Seattle in a 7-2 Yankees victory...notched his first Major League strikeout by fanning Richie Sexson to lead off the sixth inning, making DeSalvo the first pitcher in nearly 30 years to break into the Majors and pitch 12 innings before recording his first strikeout...according to the Elias Sports Bureau, the last pitcher to have a streak that long to begin his Major League career was Mike Morgan in 1979, who pitched 18.2 innings for the Oakland A's before recording his first strikeout...Made his first career relief appearance on 5/25 vs. the Angels, allowing 3ER on 2H and 2BB without recording an out...Recalled from Scranton/WB to make a spot start on 7/21 in second game of a doubleheader vs. Tampa Bay...allowed 4ER in 4.2IP in a 17-5 Yankees win...was optioned back to Scranton/WB following the game...Recalled by the Yankees a fourth time on 9/11...did not make an appearance. ...Began the season with Scranton/WB, going 9-5 with a 2.70 ERA in 20 starts over two stints (113.1IP, 92H, 39R, 34ER, 56BB, 102K, 4HR)...Was named Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre "Pitcher of the Year"...led Scranton/WB in wins (9), strikeouts (102), and ERA (2.70)...At the time of his promotion on 5/7, ranked second in the International League with a team-best 1.05 ERA in 5GS, leading all Scranton/WB pitchers with three wins...Struck out a season-high 10 batters in 6/21 loss at Durham (4.2IP, 6H, 3ER, 4BB)...Tossed 5.0 innings without allowing a hit in 9/1 win at Pawtucket (5BB, 3K) before being replaced by RHP Scott Patterson...Appeared in three Spring Training games for the Yankees, all in relief...did not record a decision, posting a 4.50 ERA (6.0IP, 7H, 3R, 3ER, 4BB, 1K).
