Is married ... wife's name is Julianne ... the couple has two daughters, Audrey and Tatum. Graduated from Bishop Kenny (FL) High School. Attended Chipola Junior College. His younger brother, Ben, is an outfielder in the Yankees organization (drafted in 2010). Enjoys fishing, hunting and surfing.
2012
Appeared in 21 games with the Brewers, including 20 starts at first base (.246, 1hr, 6rbi). Made his first Opening Day roster. Was placed on the 15-day disabled list on 5/4 with a torn ACL in his right knee ... suffered the injury on 5/1 at San Diego while chasing a foul pop. Was transferred to the 60-day disabled list on 5/6. Underwent season-ending surgery on 5/22, performed by Dr. William Raasch.
2011
Spent most of the season at Triple-A Nashville, where he batted .310 with 28 HR and 96 RBI in 128 games ... Led all Brewers minor leaguers in home runs (28), RBI (96) and runs (90) while ranking third in batting average (.310) ... Played the majority of his games at first base (101 starts) ... Prior to the 2011 season had appeared in just 5 career games at first base, all starts, coming in 2005 at Rookie Helena (3 starts) and 2010 at Nashville (2 starts) ... Was recalled by Milwaukee on 6/27 ... Batted .115 (3-for-26) with 2 RBI in 10 games with the Brewers ... Made 7 starts (3g at 3B, 2g at 1B, 2g at DH) ... Entered the season as the third-best prospect in the Brewers organization according to Baseball America...Was on the 15-day disabled list from 3/25-5/22 with a tear of the latissimus dorsi muscle in his right shoulder.....was transferred to the 60-day DL on 5/23...Was on rehab assignment from 5/20-5/25 at Class-A Brevard County (6g, .100, 0hr, 2rbi) and 5/27-6/2 at Double-A Huntsville (8g, .393, 1hr, 5rbi)...Was reinstated from the 60-day disabled list on 6/4 and optioned to Triple-A Nashville, where he batted .309 with 13 HR and 67 RBI in 82 games...Was recalled by Milwaukee on 9/1...Batted .200 (3-for-15) with 1 RBI in 12 games with the Brewers...Made 2 starts (1g at 3B, 1g in LF)...Made his first Major League appearance in the outfield on 9/23 vs. Florida, starting in left field...On 9/30 underwent surgery on his left great toe (Dr. Richard Marks)
