TEXAS: Was summoned from Round Rock on May 16 after Alexi Ogando was placed on the disabled list…made his Texas debut that night vs. DET, tossing a scoreless 9th inning…appeared again the next night and struck out Miguel Cabrera and stranded an inherited runner in the 9th inning of a 2-1 loss…allowed 2 runs over 2.0 IP on May 20 vs. OAK and was sent back to Round Rock on May 22…recalled from the Express on July 7 and earned his first major league victory that afternoon vs. HOU…totaled 7.1 scoreless innings over 6 appearances from July 7-21…returned to Round Rock on July 23, along with Joseph Ortiz, after Ogando was activated from the disabled list and Matt Garza was added to the active roster…was recalled for 3rd stint with the club on Sept. 1 and appeared in one game the remainder of the season…surrendered 2-run HR to Coco Crisp on Sept. 4 at OAK, his first home run allowed in a combined 48.2 IP (47 games) with Express and Rangers in 2013…was scoreless in 8 of 10 outings overall…just 4 of his 20 base runners allowed came around to score…left-handed batters hit .286 (6-21) with 6 walks (.464 OBP)…held opposition to a .167 average (3-18) with RISP.
ROUND ROCK: Went 0-2 with 20 saves and a 2.15 ERA (9 ER/37.2 IP) in 38 games…converted 20 of 23 save chances, T6th-most in the Pacific Coast League…opened season with 12.2-inning scoreless streak…allowed first runs and suffered first blown save on May 12 at Tucson, his last appearance with the Express before first recall to Texas…was on disabled list, June 14-30, after a wart was removed from a finger on his right hand…compiled a 4.50 ERA (6 ER/12.0 IP) over final 12 appearances after option on July 23 to raise season ERA from 1.01 to 2.15…walked just 4 batters (one IBB) in his first 25 appearances (24.2 IP) before issuing 11 passes (one IBB) in his final 13 outings (13.0 IP)…did not permit a home run in his 37.2 innings, the 4th-highest homerless innings total in the PCL…allowed runs in 8 of 38 appearances…just 11 of his 55 base runners came around to score…had at least one strikeout in 29 of 38 outings, including 15 games with multiple K's.
