Combined for a .188 (18-96) average with one homer and 6 RBI in 31 games with Reno (AAA) and Charlotte (AAA)… went to major league spring training camp with ARI and opened the year at Reno, starting 15 games behind the plate… threw out 7 of 16 runners attempting to steal…had lone 2-hit game on 4/20 vs. Albuquerque before going 3-for-30 in final 11 contests with the Aces…made pro pitching debut on 5/14 vs. Iowa (1.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 3 BB)…was placed on the disabled list on 5/25 and traded to CWS for cash considerations on 6/1… was assigned to Charlotte and activated from the DL on 6/7… started 12 games at catcher for the Knights, throwing out 4 of 9 attempted base stealers…was 5-for-12 vs. LHP with Charlotte…ended Indianapolis' no-hit bid with one out 2B in 7th on 6/17…had 2 hits on 6/18 vs. Indianapolis and hit only homer in final appearance on 6/24 vs. Gwinnett…was bothered by a right elbow strain and was placed on the disabled list on 6/27, missing the rest of the year

Brett spent most of the year in Omaha (AAA), but had two stints with Kansas City...had his contract selected on August 4 when Salvador Perez was placed on the seven-day concussion list...recalled on September 1 and spent therest of the season with the Royals... Blasted first home run in over two seasons on September 29, a two-run shot off Chicago's Jose Quintana...went 2-for-4 with a double vs. Minnesota on August 7 in his KC debut...four of his five MLB hits were for extra bases... Hit 17 homers in 78 games for the Storm Chasers, which ranked second among Pacific Coast League catchers.

Brett opened the season as the Marlins back-up catcher and also spent time at New Orleans (AAA).

(21x57) with one home run and eight RBI...Tallied a season-high four hits on May 8 at Albuquerque...Recorded three RBI in a game two times; June 11 vs. Oklahoma City and August 11 at Sacramento...With Florida, hit .273 in 14 games. Appeared as a pinch hitter 10 times, pinch runner three times and once at first base...Had two stints with the Marlins; May 22 to June 1 and September 1 to the end of the season.
