2012

Appeared with 4 different teams between the ATL, PIT, and TB organizations. Was a non-roster invitee to Braves' Spring Training but began the season with Triple-A Gwinnett. Played the majority of his 38 games for Gwinnett at 2nd base...Also appeared at 3rd base and 1st base. Acquired by PIT in exchange for cash considerations on 5/20 and the next day was acquired by TB in exchange for a player to be named later or cash. Batted .545 (6-for-11) over his 1st 3 games with the Rays...Was used primarily as an infielder (2B, 3B, and 1B). Was designated for assignment on 6/22 and was claimed off waivers by the Pirates on 6/24. Delivered a pinch-hit RBI double in his 1st plate appearance with PIT, 6/26 at PHI. Hit his 1st career walk-off HR, 7/3 vs. HOU (Wesley Wright)...Tied his career high with 3 hits in that game. 19 of his 20 defensive appearances with the Pirates were in the outfield (LF and RF). Was designated for assignment on 7/31 and finished the season with Triple-A Indianapolis.

2011

Began the season in Pawtucket (AAA) and had his contract purchased by the Boston Red Sox on 5/20...Combined to hit .315 (17-for-54) with 7 doubles, seven RBI and 11 runs scored in 31 games (11 starts: one at 1B, four at 3B, four at SS, two in LF) in three stints with the Sox, from 5/20-6/13, 6/17-7/17 and 7/26-8/1...Of his 17 hits with Boston, seven went for extra bases (all doubles)...Combined to hit .300 (66-for-220) with five HR, 27 RBI, and 20 doubles with Boston and Pawtucket...Was selected to the Red Sox active roster on 5/20 and made his Red Sox debut that night as a defensive replacement at second base...Was recalled again on 6/17 when Jed Lowrie was placed on the disabled list and started that night against MIL. Hit .313 (5-for-16) with one double, two RBI in 14 games before a 7/18 option back to Pawtucket when Carl Crawford was activated from the disabled list...Began his third stint with Boston on 7/16 when J.D. Drew was placed on the 15-day DL. Optioned back to Pawtucket on 8/4 to make room for Erik Bedard...H it .295 (49-for-166) with 13 doubles, five homers, one triple and 27 RBI in 45 games with Pawtucket (17 games at 2B, 9 at 3B, 7 at SS, 3 in LF, 2 in RF)...Homered from both sides of the plate on 5/9 vs. Gwinnett. Spent most of the 2010 season at the Triple-A level between the Reds and Indians organizations...Hit a combined .273 (98-for-359) with 24 doubles, a triple, 5 homers and 42 RBI in 113 games between the International League's Louisville (CIN) and Columbus (CLE) clubs...Finished 3rd in the IL with 61 walks...Appeared in 22 games at first base, 30 at second base, 11 at third base, 4 at shortstop and 38 in the outfield at the minor league level...Played in 2 games with the Reds from 5/27-28, going 2-for-3 with a home run...Collected a single-game career-high 4 RBI on 5/28 vs. HOU, connecting for his 1st ML grand slam...Claimed off waivers by Cleveland on 8/6 and assigned to Columbus, where he hit .302 (29-for-96) in 29 regular season games with 8 doubles, 2 homers and 15 RBI...Was 6-for-18 (.333) with 2 runs, a double and 3 RBI in 4 postseason tilts with the Clippers...Recalled to Cleveland on 9/14 and made 6 starts at shortstop (7 games) and 4 starts at second base over the rest of the season...Collected a career-high 3 hits on 9/19 at KC...Started at short and went deep in his last at-bat of the season during the Indians season finale on 10/3 at CWS.

Was 1 of 8 Reds players to make his Major League debut...during 3 stints with the Reds played 2B (8g, 3gs), 3B (2g, 1gs), SS (7g, 3gs) and LF (6g, 4gs)...prior to this season never had played in the outfield professionally...made 11 starts...in the batting order hit leadoff (3gs), second (5gs), sixth (1gs) and seventh (2gs)...began the season with the Astros' Class AAA Round Rock affiliate and made 5 apps there before he was traded to the Reds on 4/16 to complete the spring training deal that sent IF Jeff Keppinger to Hou...was assigned to Louisville, where he spent time on the disabled lists for mononucleosis and dehydration...was promoted for the first time on 7/1, when RHP Jared Burton was optioned to Louisville...in the 10-inning, 3-2 win on 7/2 vs Ari made his Major League debut in the ninth inning, pinch hit and produced a run-scoring fielder's choice off Chad Qualls that tied the score at 2-2...on 7/21 at LAD produced his first career hit, an RBI-double off Randy Wolf...from 7/31-8/2 made his first 3 big league starts, all in LF...on 8/15 vs Wsh hit his first career home run (2-run off Logan Kensing)...in the ninth inning of the 7-5 win on 9/12 at Chi produced a 2-out, 2-run double off Carlos Marmol that snapped the 5-5 tie...wore uniform number 27 until the Reds acquired 3B Scott Rolen on 7/31, then switched to 15...at Class AAA Louisville played SS (14g), 3B (13g), 2B (12g) and 1B (6g)...prior to the season was named the Astros' eighth-best prospect by Baseball America.

2008

Hit .317 (165x520) with 20 home runs and 69 RBI in 133 games with Corpus Christi...named the Hooks' Team MVP and a Texas League midseason and postseason All-Star in his second consecutive full-season with Corpus Christi...led all Astros minor leaguers in batting average, hits, runs scored (102), walks (76), doubles (39) and extra-base hits (63)...named Corpus Christi's Offensive Player of the Month in July after posting a .323 (32x99) average with four home runs and 11 RBI...following the season, played for the Scottsdale Scorpions of the Arizona Fall League and hit .315 (34x108) with seven home runs and 24 RBI in 30 games.

2007

At Class AA Corpus Christi was a Texas League All-Star after leading the Hooks in hits (129), doubles (28), runs (81) and stolen bases (24)...ranked fourth in the league in steals and fifth in runs scored...was Texas League Hitter of the Week for 4/16-4/22 (.6g, .481).

2006

At Class A Salem was a Carolina League All-Star...ranked fifth in the league in walks (69)

2005

At Class A Salem and Lexington combined to hit .274 with 16 homers...was promoted from Salem to Lexington on 6/30 and spent the rest of the season with the Legends.

2004

In his first professional season, at Tri-City finished third in the New York-Penn League in walks (39) and was his club's Defensive Player of the Month for June.
