Spent the year with New Orleans (AAA) in the Marlins system, batting .294 (64-218) with 6 HR, 14 doubles, and 42 RBI in 60 games….his 42 RBI ranked 2nd on club despite limited number of games….was teammates with former Ranger Doug Mathis….endured 3 separate stints on the disabled list: start of season-May 19 (back strain), June 20-July 18 (left intercostal strain), and Aug. 11-19 (left trapezius).…went 1-for-4 with an RBI in his first game with New Orleans on May 20 at Sacramento and hit .347 (17-49) over his first 13 games.…that stretch ended with a 13-inning win on June 1 at Iowa (4-7, HR, 2 2B, 4 RBI), when he had season highs in hits and RBI….hit .244 (11-45) over next 13 games leading up to 2nd DL stint to drop to .298…in first 16 games after 2nd DL stint from July 19-Aug. 2, batted .364 (20-55) with 3 doubles, 2 HR, and 13 RBI to rise to .322.…would bat .232 (16-69) in final 19 games to finish at .294…had 9 games at first base, one error in 62 chances, and fielded .948 (5 E/96 TC) in 38 games at third….following the season, played 24 games as the designated hitter for Mexicali in the Mexican Winter League, batting .348 (32-92) with 10 doubles, 3 HR, 11 RBI, and a .956 OPS.

Combined to bat .276 (91-330) with 2 HR and 46 RBI in 90 games with NW Arkansas (AA) and Omaha (AAA) in the Royals system…opened year with Omaha and hit .321 (26-81) in April, but opened May by going 0-for-17 in first 5 games of the month to drop to .265…on DL June 13-19 with right thumb contusion…hit safely in 11 of final 12 with Omaha, spanning the DL stint, and was sent to NW Arkansas on July 14 for duration of year…first HR of season was a grand slam on Aug. 2 at Tulsa.

Kevin split the season between the Oakland and Colorado organizations...in addition to his time in Oakland and Colorado, also played 61 games for Sacramento (AAA) in the A's organization...Combined for seven home runs in the Majors in 73 games for the A's and Rockies, marking his first season since

Led the A's in home runs (16) and extra base hits (49), and tied for the team lead in RBI (71)...however, all three figures were the lowest totals over his four full seasons, as were his .247 batting average, .283 on-base percentage and .396 slugging percentage...had career-highs in doubles (32) and stolen bases (2)...the 16 home runs were the fewest by a team leader in Oakland history...the previous low was 17 by Mitchell Page in 1978, and Dwayne Murphy and Davey Lopes in 1983...the 71 RBI were second lowest by an Oakland team leader to Page's 70 in 1978...his .283 on-base percentage ranked fourth lowest in the American League and was the lowest by an Athletic since Scott Brosius had a .259 mark in 1997...hit .214 with runners in scoring position...was batting .266 at the All-Star Break but then hit .216 after

first ever on the first pitch...is also the fourth Major Leaguer and first American League player to hit a
grand slam in his debut...homered in his second game Sept. 3 (off Kevin Millwood), breaking up a fifthinning
