Full name LOUIS BEN FRANCISCO...Married, Cindy....1999 graduate of Servite High School (CA), where he was named the 1999 Golden West League MVP and was a 2-time all-league selection, hitting .560, 6 HR, 32 RBI and 10 SB as a senior... Attended Cypress Junior College (2000) and UCLA (2001-02), where he played baseball... 2012

Six-year veteran returns to Cleveland after beginning his professional career with the Tribe, 2002-09, playing in 235 games with the Indians from 2007-09... Is a career .281 (102-363) at Progressive Field with 13HR & 54RBI in 106 games....Split 2012 between Toronto, Houston and Tampa Bay where he hit a combined .240 (46-192) with 14 2B, 4HR & 15RBI in 82 games (.670OPS). Began the season with Toronto and was traded to Houston on July 20 as part of a 10-player deal involving Francisco Cordero and J.A. 2008

Split the season between AAA Buffalo and Cleveland, making his Major League debut and hit his first big league homer, a game-winner, on June 29 vs. Tampa Bay...Won the International League batting title, hitting .318 (120-377) w/27 2B, 12 HR & 51 RBI in 95 games ...Also stole 22 bases in 30 attempts as his .496 slugging ranked 5th in the IL...Was the first Bisons player since Mark Ryal in 1990 to win a batting title ... He ranked among organizational leaders in hitting (2nd), OBP (5th) and SLG (5th) ...Was named "Most Exciting Player" in the IL by Managers and Baseball America... Hit .366 (25-101) in May with 4HR, 8-2B and 19RBI. .. Named to the International League Post-Season All-Star team ... Assembled a 19-9ame hitting streak from May 18-June 7 (.423; 33-78), matching F. Gutierrez for the longest Buffalo hit streak this year and T4th longest in the IL... 2006

Had an outstanding season at AAA Buffalo, leading the team in several offensive categories as he shared the Stan Baron Most Valuable Player Award with Jason Dubois...Spent the entire season with Buffalo and finished T2nd in the International League in hits (143), T5th in doubles (32) and tied for 4th in runs (80)...Also led the team in games (134), extra-base hits (54) and stolen bases (25, T9th in IL)... Ben led the team with 37 multi-hit games...Defining moment of his season came from June 12-July 8 when he composed the second-longest hit streak in the Bisons Modern Era...His 25-game stretch (.324, 34-105, 7 2B, 3HR, 3BB, 15R) fell just three games short of Alex Ramirez's 28-game streak in 1998...He hit two home runs on April 15 against Columbus, the second coming in the 11th inning of a 7-6 win...He hit .292 in the top spot (52G, 62-212) and hit .313 (83-265) at home...From August 1 thru the end of the season he hit .314 (37-118) with 11 2B, 4HR & 18RBI in 29 games...Hit .297 (43-145) off LHP with 6HR & 15RBI, .322 (37-115) with RISP and .321 (62-193) with runners on...Played in the Mexican Winter League for Culiacan (66G, 16 2B, 11HR, 37RBI) after the season...Added to the 40-man roster on November 20.

2005

Promising young hitter spent most of the season at AA Akron before ending the season at AAA Buffalo... Missed six weeks of the season with a sprained ligament in his left thumb from 4/10-5/30...Drove in 7 runs over 2 games, 6/8-9, vs. New Hampshire (4 & 3RBI)...Season really got going in August, hitting .398 (41-103) in 25 games with 18 R, 11 2B, 2 3B, 5 HR, 25 RBI, 12 BB, 19 SO & 4 SB...Had two 4-hit games and four 3-hit games for the month...Named Eastern League Player of the Week for the week ending 8/21...Hit .500 (15-30) in 8 games with 6 R, 5 2B, 2 3B, 1 HR, 7 RBI and 2 SB...Went 4 for 5 w/2HR & 5RBI on 8/10 vs. Erie....Was promoted to AAA Buffalo on 9/2...Appeared in 4 regular season games for the Bisons to conclude the season, hitting safely in all 4 of them, going 4 for 5 w/a RS & RBI on 9/4 at Syracuse....Then went on to hit .353 (6-17) in the IL playoffs (3 2B, 1RBI, 5G) and hit .296 (72-243) after the season in the Mexican Winter League for Culiacan (60G, 11 2B, 13HR, 31RBI).

2004

Spent the entire season at AA Akron, appearing in a career-high 133 games while driving in a career-best 71 runs...Appeared in 76 games in RF, 43 games in CF and 14 games in LF...Drove in 5 runs on 5/11 vs. Bowie (2HR).

2003

Missed the first two months of the season after undergoing left hand surgery in spring training on 3/27 (hamate bone)...Activated on 6/1...Hit in 9 straight games, 8/1-11 and drove in 11 runs over the span...In August he hit .314 (33-105) with 5HR & 22RBI in 28 games and hit 2HR and drove in 5 runs on 7/30 and 8/30...Appeared in 52G in CF...

2002

Spent his first professional season at A Mahoning Valley after signing on 6/19...Won the New York-Penn League batting title (.349) and also led the league in runs (55)...Also ranked 3rd in steals (22), 4th in slugging % (.502), 3rd in on-base % (.416), 2nd in hits and doubles and 5th in extra base hits (28)...Was named Topps Minor League Player of the Year for the NYPL, an NYPL Post-Season All-Star and to the Baseball America Short-Season All-Star team.
