Graduated from Land O'Lakes HS in Florida...Selected by Houston in the 8th round of the 2000 First Year Player Draft.
2007
Participated in spring training as a non-roster invitee and spent most of the season at AAA Norfolk, appearing in five games for the Orioles...Missed the final six weeks of the season with a strained right shoulder...Led the International League and all Orioles minor leaguers with 29 saves on the season...The mark as a new Tides' franchise record for single season saves...Was chosen as a member of the IL All-Star and postseason All-Star teams...Was also named the top reliever at the Triple-A level by MinorLeagueBaseball.com...Went 0-1 with a 2.23 ERA (41.1IP, 11R/ER) in 42 games with Norfolk, allowing 23 hits and striking out 49 batters...Held opponents to a .152 batting average...Did not allow a run in 37 of his 42 outings for the Tides, including 23 straight games, May 5-June 30, spanning 25.1 innings...Pitched a scoreless 9th inning in the Triple-A All-Star Game in July, helping the IL defeat the Pacific Coast League, 7-5...Was added to the roster on June 16 from Norfolk & made his major league debut that night vs. Arizona, walking one in 0.1 IP...Was optioned back on June 19...Was recalled from AAA Norfolk for his 2nd O's stint on July 25 when Chris Ray went on the DL...Appeared in four more games for the Orioles before being optioned back to Norfolk on August 3.
