Is married...wife's name is Kelly...Graduated from Mesa Verde (Calif.) High School...Attended the University of Nevada-Reno, where he was an All-American and MVP of the Big West Conference during his senior season in 2000 as he batted .435 to set a school record...Was a college teammate of Lyle Overbay, Ryan Church and Chad Qualls...His great uncle, Bill McNulty, was a former outfielder and third baseman, who played in the Major Leagues with Oakland in 1969 (5 games) and 1972 (4 games)...His favorite athletes growing up were Pete Rose and Lenny Dykstra...his favorite team growing up was the San Francisco Giants...Enjoys reading, listening to music and being with his family.

Was claimed off waivers from Texas on 1/27.....made his first career Opening Day roster...Appeared in 102 games this season, including 17 starts (10g in RF, 5g in LF, 2g at 2B)...Batted .294 (20-for-68, 1hr, 6rbi) as a pinch hitter.....his 20 pinch hits led the Major Leagues...Joined Lenny Harris (22 in 2002) as the only players in franchise history to lead the majors in pinch hits...On 7/27 vs. Cincinnati made his first career appearance as a pitcher.....retired Brandon Phillips, Orlando Cabrera and Joey Votto on 6 pitches in the ninth inning of the 12-4 loss.....was the first Brewers position player to pitch since infielder Trent Durrington on 4/17/04 at Houston...His only home run of the season was a pinch-hit, 2-run shot off Matt Lindstrom on 8/6 vs. Houston which started a 3-run comeback in the ninth inning of a 6-5 win.....was the first pinch-hit homer of his career.

Batted .281 with 6 RBI in 36 games with Toronto during three stints (5/22-6/20, 7/24-8/18 and 9/1-end)...Made 23 starts (12g in LF, 9 G in RF, 2 G at 2B)...From 8/5-9/6 posted a career-high 11-game hitting streak, batting .410 (16-for-39) with 4 RBI...Appeared in 40 games at Triple-A Las Vegas, batting .360 with 3 HR and 25 RBI...Was claimed off waivers by Texas on 12/4...Was claimed off waivers by Milwaukee on 1/27/10.
2008
Batted .297 with 3 HR and 39 RBI in 109 games with Toronto during four stints (4/12-4/26, 5/8-5/9, 5/10-6/7 and 6/8-end)...Made 83 starts at six different positions for the Blue Jays, making 62 starts at second base...also made starts at third base (5 G), left field (5 G), center field (1 G), right field (9 G) and as the designated hitter (1 G)...Tied for sixth in the American League in triples (7)...Belted his first career grand slam on 6/19 at Milwaukee off David Riske...was his first home run as a Blue Jay...Had a career-high 4 hits on 8/21 vs. New York-AL as he went 4-for-5 with 3R, a double and a walk in the 14-3 win...Appeared in 15 games at Triple-A Syracuse, batting .407 with 1 HR and 6 RBI.
2007
Played the majority of the season with the Buffalo Bisons, AAA affiliate of the Cleveland Indians...Appeared in 107 games, batting .253 with four home runs & 57 RBI...Had his best month in August, when he batted .297 with 11 extra base hits, 24 RBI in 28 games played...Was designated for assignment by Cleveland on Sept. 6...Claimed by the Blue Jays on Sept. 14 and reported to Syracuse (AAA)...Was recalled by Toronto on September 21 in New York...Debuted that night as a pinch runner, stole a base and singled in his first plate appearance...Appeared in just two games for the Jays, making one start (3B) on the last day of the season - was 2-for-4 with a triple & had two RBI in that contest.
2006
Split the season with Buffalo (AAA) and Akron (AA), spending three weeks with Akron playing Shortstop every day from Apr. 28-May 21...With Akron he recorded a batting average of .516 (33-64) with an OBP of .587 & a SLG of .797...On May 1 was named Eastern League Batter of the Week (.526, 10-19)...Batted .299 (47-157) in 40 games for the Bisons...Contract was purchased from Buffalo on June 20...Made his ML debut on June 21 vs. CHC...Collected his first ML hit on July 1 at CIN (off Brian Shackelford) and first ML RBI on July 19 at LAA...In that contest, his first start in CF, went 3-for-4 with a 2B, SB and 2BB...Hit his first ML home run on July 26 off Justin Verlander.
2005
Spent the entire season with Buffalo (AAA)...Batted .330 (108-327) with 20-2B, 9-3B, 2-HR and 40 RBI in 95 games...Earned the 2005 Joe DeSa Award signifying the Club's most inspirational player...Tied a Bisons record with hits in seven straight at bats (June 11-13)...Was named the IL Batter of the Week from Aug. 22-28 (.486, 17-35).
2004
Season was limited from previous year's left elbow injury... Did not play from Apr. 17-June 8 due to his left elbow injury...Went 3-for-7 with a double, triple and six RBI on July 16 vs. Erie...Concluded the season by hitting .330 (30-91) in August and .474 (9-19) in September.
2003
Dislocated his left elbow on a sac bunt play at first base in the Eastern League playoffs...Began the year at Kinston (A) and was promoted to Akron (AA) on June 2...Missed most of May with a right hamstring strain.
2002
Spent time with both Columbus (A) and Kinston (AA)...Combined to bat .296 with 75 RBI and 68 runs scored in 126 contests.
