Played well in trio of stints with the Nationals in '12...first MLB hit was a homer, July 28 at MIL off Randy Wolf...lifted a game-ending RBI single in the 10th inning as Washington edged MIA, 7-6, on Sept. 8 at Nationals Park...spent majority of season with Triple-A Syracuse (.285, 56 extra-base hits, 71 RBI & 18 stolen bags in 126 games)...led the IL in OPS (.888), slugging percentage (.523) and runs (83)...also ranked in HR (2nd, 25), triples (2nd) & extra-base hits (4th).

2011

In first year in Washington organization, played in 124 games with Triple-A Syracuse before Sept. promotion to DC...made MLB debut (Sept. 6 vs. LAD) and played in 3 games before a staph infection (right knee) prompted surgery.

2010

Combined to hit .283 with 18 doubles, 11 triples, 15 home runs, 69 RBI and 22 stolen bases in 131 games with Triple- A Sacramento and Double-A Midland...was named to Texas League and Topps Double-A All-Star squads...by season's end, ranked among Double-A leaders for OBP (3rd), batting (5th) and triples (tied for 8th).

2009

Batted .268 with 20 doubles, nine home runs and 43 RBI in 66 games at Double-A Midland in a season interrupted by two stints on the disabled list...was on the DL from April 21 to May 2 with a strained left knee and July 10 to Aug. 6 with a strained right knee...batted .323 (20 for 62) against left-handed pitching and .250 (47 for 188) with all nine of his home runs and 36 of his 43 RBI against right-handers...hit .320 with 15 doubles, five home runs and 30 RBI in 40 games before the All-Star Break and .186 with five doubles, four home runs and 13 RBI in 26 games after the break...had a .315 batting average with the bases empty and .230 with runners on, including .167 with runners in scoring position...appeared in 63 games in the outfield, all in center field...also went 6 for 12 (.500) with two home runs and four RBI in three games as the designated hitter...saw most of his action batting seventh (50 games)...played for Phoenix in the Arizona Fall League following the season and hit .333 with six home runs and 28 RBI in 25 games...led the AFL in RBI, ranked second in total bases (65), tied for second in home runs, tied for third in extra base hits (15) and fourth in hits (35).

Played for the A's two Single-A affiliates at Kane County and Stockton and combined to hit .266 with 30 home runs and 83 RBI in 134 games...the home runs ranked 14th among all minor leaguers but he also struck out 168 times, which tied for fourth most...ranked second in the A's farm system in home runs, third in total bases (253) and fourth in slugging percentage (.510) and extra base hits (59)...was successful in 16 of 17 (94.1%) stolen base attempts...hit .272 with 25 of his 30 home runs against righthanded pitching and .248 against left-handers...batted .327 in 29 day games and .249 in 105 contests at night...had a .176 batting average with runners in scoring position...appeared in 116 games in the outfield, all in center field...began the season at Kane County and hit .270 with 14 home runs and 49 RBI in 85 games...finished second on the Cougars in home runs despite a mid-July promotion to Stockton... named to the Midwest League Midseason All-Star team...drove in at least one run in eight consecutive games, April 13 to 21 (nine RBI total)...had his first of four two-homer games, April 16 against South Bend when he went 3 for 5 and scored a season high four runs...hit safely in a season high 10 consecutive games from June 23 to July 2 (19 for 42, .452)...including a three-double game, June 24 at Quad Cities...was promoted to Stockton July 10 and hit .260 with 16 home runs and 34 RBI in 49 games with the Ports...finished third on the club in home runs...had three two homer games with Stockton, all in August...turned the trick Aug. 2 at Visalia, Aug. 17 against Bakersfield and Aug. 25 at Visalia...batted .310 with seven doubles, 12 home runs and 23 RBI in 30 games in August...went 8 for 45 (.178) with a home run and 12 RBI in 12 postseason games for the Ports...played for North Shore Honu in the Hawaiian Winter Baseball League and hit .216 with four home runs and 14 RBI in 28 games.

Made his professional debut with Single-A Vancouver and hit .268 with 11 home runs and 48 RBI in 59 games...ranked second in the Northwest League in slugging (.545) and fifth in strikeouts (77)...tied for the Canadians team lead in home runs and ranked second in RBI...was named to the Baseball America Short-Season All-Star team...batted .306 on the road and .301 at night...had seven home runs and 23 RBI in 27 games in July and hit .313 in 23 games in August...appeared in 38 games in center field and 17 in right field and had six assists...hit his first career grand slam, June 27 against Yakima.
