Michael Travis Hollimon (pronounced HAH-la-min)...2001 graduate of Jesuit Prep in Dallas, TX, where he was named Third-Team High School All-American by Baseball America after hitting .446 with eight home runs and 28 RBI...was selected by Los Angeles (NL) in the 32nd round of the First-Year Player Draft but did not sign...played three seasons at the University of Texas from 2002-04, batting .243 (119-for-489) in three seasons for the Long Horns...transferred to Oral Roberts in his senior season and was named Mid-Continent Conference Co-Player of the Year and All-Mid-Continent Conference selection.
2011
Started the season with Double-A New Britain...had two stints with the Rock Cats and two with Triple-A Rochester during the season...Played in 44 games for the Rock Cats before being transferred to Triple-A Rochester, June 8...Played in 17 games for the Red Wings before being transferred back to New Britain, June 26...transferred to Triple-A, July 30...transferred to Double-A, August 12 and finished the season there...Combined to hit .231 (104-for-450) with 19 doubles, five triples, 18 home runs, 62 rbi and 82 runs scored in 126 games between New Britain and Rochester...his 82 runs scored with third-most in the Twins organization, while his 18 home runs were the fifth-most (first among "full season" minor leaguers).
2010
Was released by Detroit, March 6...signed with the Grand Prairie AirHogs of the American Association, batting .256 (54-for-211) with 15 doubles, two triples, six home runs, 36 rbi and 33 runs scored in 55 games.
2009
Placed on the disabled list from June 30 through the rest of the season with a right shoulder strain...underwent surgery on his right shoulder, a labral repair by Dr. James Andrews, July 15.
2008
Spent the majority of the 2008 season with Triple A Toledo -- received his first major league action with the Tigers, appearing in 11 games with the club during June and July...Opened the season on the disabled list at Toledo -- sidelined April 3-21 with a left shoulder dislocation...Connected for a season-high two home runs on May 18 at Columbus...Tied for fourth in the International League with 10 home runs during May, while he tied for fifth with 68 total bases -- batted .254 (31x122) with 22 runs scored, five doubles, a triple and 15 RBI in 30 games during the month...Had his contract purchased from Toledo by the Tigers on June 6...Made his major league debut on June 9 at Cleveland, entering the game as a defensive replacement at shortstop in the ninth inning...Collected his first major league hit on June 26 versus St. Louis, a single off Todd Wellemeyer in the fifth inning...Belted his first major league home run on July 3 at Seattle, a solo shot in the sixth inning off Mark Lowe...Optioned to Toledo by the Tigers on July 6...Struggled upon his return to Toledo -- batted .183 (13x71) in 22 games during July and .145 (11x76) in 25 games during August...Underwent surgery on September 18 to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder, a procedure performed by Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, AL.

Selected to the Eastern League post-season All-Star Team...ranked third in the Eastern League with eight triples, was fourth with 91 runs scored and fifth with 121 strikeouts...selected to Baseball America's Double-A All-Star Team...named the Best Defensive second baseman in the Eastern League by Baseball America...played with Peoria in the Arizona Fall League...played for Team USA, helping guide the team to the gold medal at the 2007 IBAF World Cup...named the fourth-best prospect in the Tigers' organization following the season by Baseball America.
2006
Selected to the Midwest League mid-season and post-season All-Star teams...led the Midwest League with 13 triples and six intentional walks, while he finished second with 77 walks, third with 57 extra-base hits and fifth with a .501 slugging percentage...named the 15-best prospect in the Tigers' organization by Baseball America, following the season.
2005
Was named to the New York-Penn League All-Star team...named to Baseball America's Short-Season Single-A All-Star Team...named NY-Penn League Player of the Week, July 25-31...named Tigers' Minor League Player of the Month in July...named the fifth-best late-round selection in the draft, 14-best prospect in the NY-Penn League and 22nd-best prospect in the Tigers organization by Baseball America, following the season.
