Melky spent a majority of the season at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (AAA), but had an eight-day stint in the Major Leagues where he appeared in five games for the New York Yankees..Went 5-for-13 (.385) in the Major Leagues, which included a two-hit effort vs. Tampa Bay on July 26..Named International League Player of the Week, August 12, batting .393 (11-for-28) with two homers and nine RBI from August 6-11...batted .312 (24-for-77) with a .532 slugging percentage after the All-Star break.
2012
Hit .500 (1-for-2) with 1 RBI in three games in his first Major League action as a September call-up with the Yankees...Was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre prior to 9/11 loss at Boston...made his Major League debut in 9/22 win vs. Oakland, appearing as a pinch runner in the 14th inning...Recorded his first Major League hit and RBI - in his first career at-bat - with a pinch-hit single in the eighth inning of 10/1 win vs. Boston...Combined to bat .264 (121-for-458) with 79 R, 26 doubles, 23 HRs and 67 RBIs in 121 games with Double-A Trenton and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre...ranked second among all Yankees farmhands in home runs behind only Luke Murton (25)...set career highs in batting average, doubles and HRs...Began the year with Trenton, batting .277 (92-for-332) with 60 R, 18 doubles, 14 HRs and 46 RBIs in 88 games en route to being named to the EL Midseason All-Star team...was promoted to Scranton/WB on 8/2, hitting .230 (29-for-126) with 19 R, 8 doubles, 9 HRs and 21 RBIs in 33 games.

Was named the Florida State League's "Player of the Year" after hitting .260 (116-
for-446) with 81R, 21 doubles, 9 triples, 19HR and 74RBI in 121 games with Single-A
Tampa...set career highs in runs, hits and triples and tied his career high in RBI...was
named to the FSL postseason All-Star team...Ranked third among all Yankees minor leaguers in home runs (19) and stolen bases
(31) and fifth in RBI (74)...ranked second in the FSL in slugging percentage (.475),
third in HR, triples (9) and extra-base hits (49) and fifth in runs (81)..ranked second
in the league with 1HR every 23.47AB...Hit two grand slams (6/7 vs. Jupiter and 7/7 at Daytona) and hit .286 (2-for-7) with
10RBI with the bases loaded...Was named the FSL "Player of the Week" for the period from 8/2-9, batting .406
(13-for-32) with 5R, 3 doubles, 2HR and 9RBI in seven games...recorded two four-hit
games during the span (8/3 at Ft. Myers and 8/5 vs. St. Lucie)...hit an 11th-inning

Atlantic League in home runs and ranked fifth in runs (76)...hit all 20HR in his first
93 games of the season (from 4/9-7/23), going homerless in his final 40 contests of
the year (7/24-9/7)...Was the only RiverDogs player to be selected to both the South Atlantic League's
midseason and postseason All-Star teams...hit 2HR in a game three times (4/15 vs.
Augusta, 4/22 at Augusta and 6/25 at Savannah)...Was named the SAL's "Player of the Week" from 6/23-29, batting .550 (11-for-20) with
3R, 1 triple, 2HR, 5RBI and 2BB in ve games over the stretch...Was tabbed by Baseball America as the "Fastest Baserunner," "Best Athlete" and as
