Aaron Steven Laffey graduated from Allegany (MD) High School in 2003 where he played basketball and baseball...Won the Skip Cook Memorial Award in 2003 as the Cumberland Times-News High School Baseball Player of the Year...Committed to Virginia Tech before signing with the Indians.

Split the season between AAA Buffalo and Cleveland, and was a viable member of the Indians rotation for almost 2 months before struggling the second half of the season, missing the final part of the season with left elbow inflammation...Was the Buffalo opening day starter after being optioned out of spring training on March 24 after competing for a spot in the rotation with Sowers and Cliff lee...Won 3 of his 5 starts in Buffalo and over his last 3 starts was 2-0 w/a 1.20 ERA (15.0IP, 7H, 2R/ER, 4BB, 13K, .127AVG)... Recorded 3 of Buffalo's first 8 wins and allowed only 1 HR in his 26.0IP...Recalled from AAA Buffalo on April 28 and made his 2008 ML that night vs. the New York Yankees...Fell to 0-1 (5.2IP, 3H, 4R/ER) despite not allowing a hit over the first 5.0IP...
