Opened the year in the Braves bullpen, but struggled with right rotator cuff tendinitis and made just 5 appearances at the Major League level and two more in the minor leagues.

Played for his native Mexico in the 2009 World Baseball Classic. ...After having his contract purchased from Richmond (AAA) on 4/10, Jorge became a valuable addition to the major league club both as a reliever and as a starter in his rookie season. 2007

Played for Triple-A Tacoma until being called up by Seattle on 9/7...Made season debut 9/8 at DET, allowing one run on two hits in one inning in relief. It was his first ML appearance since 9/26/06 vs. OAK...Threw 3.0 scoreless innings on 9/11 vs. OAK...Allowed eight runs in final two appearances (2.2 IP)...Appeared in 24 games, 22 games starts, with Tacoma...Led PCL with 3.07 ERA (51 ER, 149.1 IP) and became first Tacoma pitcher to lead the league in ERA since Denny Stark in 2001, and 14th Tacoma pitcher to win the crown since 1960...Led Rainiers with nine wins and finished second with 99 strikeouts while also making a team-high 24 starts and led team with 15 quality starts...Finished second among all Mariners farmhands in ERA (3.07) and wins (9)...Allowed three earned runs or less in 16 of 24 appearances...Struck out a season-high seven batters in 7.0 innings 8/19 vs. Sacramento...Was 2-0 with a 1.47 ERA (5 ER, 30.2 IP) while striking out 22 in five starts in August...In his only two relief appearances, he went 1-0 with a 0.73 ERA (1 ER, 12.1 IP)...Pitched for Mexico in the 2007 Pan-American Games in Rio de Janeiro, throwing a three-hit shutout against Panama.

2006

Returned to the Major Leagues for the first time since August 2005, when he tore a ligament in his right elbow while making his first Major League start. He later needed Tommy John surgery to repair the elbow. Was on a rehabilitation assignment with the Peoria Mariners before being reinstated from the disabled list and transferred to Class A Inland Empire on Aug. 11. Was later transferred to the Double-A San Antonio Missions, where he was 2-0 with a 2.53 ERA in two starts. Allowed four earned runs in his only relief appearance with Seattle on Sept. 26 against Oakland.

2005

Signed out of the Mexican League prior to Spring Training. Made his MLB debut on August 3, two days after being promoted from Triple-A Tacoma, and suffered a strained right elbow, forcing him to miss the remainder of the season.

2004

Spent season with Mexico City, setting a career-high with 66 strikeouts...Tossed 8.0 shutout innings, allowing only four hits while striking out eight on 4/18...Won season-high three consecutive starts (22.1 IP, 6 ER), from 4/18-30...Fired first complete game shutout 6/5, allowing only four hits while striking out a seasonhigh nine batters...Made only one relief appearance of the season on 6/22, tossing 2.0 scoreless innings...Posted a 10-1 record with a 2.05 ERA in 14 starts with Culiacan in the Mexican Winter League.

Set career highs in wins (12) and innings pitched (119.1) while tossing a career-low 2.79 ERA...Finished fifth in the league in wins...Won season-high five consecutive starts, allowing only two runs in 31.1 innings, from 5/11-6/6...Went 9-1 with a 1.90 ERA, from 5/11-7/5, lowering his ERA from 4.05 to 2.66...Allowed three or less runs in 16 of his 21 starts, including seven starts without a run.

2002

Made 14 starts for the Tigres before moving to the bullpen on 6/23...Went 4-5 with a 6.15 ERA (79.0 IP, 54 ER) in 15 games as a starter, compared to going 1-0 with a 2.35 ERA (15.1 IP, 4 ER) in 10 relief appearances... Struck out a season-high nine batters in 7.0 innings on 3/29.

2001

Started season in the bullpen...Moved to the starting rotation on 7/7, and made six starts...Went 2- 1 with a career-high two saves and a 2.41 ERA (41.0 IP, 11 ER) in 21 relief appearances...Went 4-2 with a 4.53 ERA (45.2 IP, 23 ER) in nine starts...Struck out a season-high nine batters in 6.0 innings on 3/24.
