Nate began his sixth season with the San Francisco Giants before he was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies in a four-player deal involving Hunter Pence, July 31, 2012. ...Combined to hit .257 (62-for-241) with eight doubles, five triples, six home runs and 21 RBI in 114 games between the Giants and Phillies. ...Boasted a .287 batting average (51-for-178) vs. right-handed hurlers ... all six of his home runs were off righties. ...Recorded back-to-back three-hit games, April 23-24 at the Mets, while registering a triple in both games. ...Went 2-for-5 with a home run in his Phillies debut, August 1 at Washington. ...Logged a .269 batting average (25-for-93) with one home run and 16 RBI with runners on base. ...Was placed on the 15-day disabled list, August 13, due to a fractured right big toe. ...Hit .118 (2-for-17) with one RBI in four games while rehabbing with Triple-A Lehigh Valley before he was activated, September 1.

Fouled ball off his right foot on Aug. 15 at Atlanta and told reporters that he thought he broke his foot...sat out next day, but then played remaining 2 games in Atlanta and then all 3 in Houston before undergoing an MRI and CT Scan, which revealed hairline fracture...was placed on 15-day disabled list on Aug. 27 (retroactive to Aug. 22) and did not play remainder of season.

2010

In limited action, hit .242 (55-for-227) with 3 HRs and 17 RBI in 137 games in his 4th big league season with San Francisco ... His 7 outfield assists were tied with Andres Torres for most on team, although he started just 41 games and appeared in 109 (usually as late inning defensive replacement) ... Established himself as one of top hitters coming off bench as he hit .310 (9-for-29) with HR and 3 RBI in pinch-hitting role, 10th-highest clip in pinch among NL players ... Recorded career-high 5 hits on April 28 vs. Philadelphia, while reaching base safely in all 6 of his plate appearances...joined Edgar Renteria (April 7 at HOU) as only Giants to collect 5-or-more hits in game in 2010.

2009

One of Giants' top prospects, Schierholtz spent most of 2008 with triple-A Fresno, but earned Sept. call-up for 2nd straight year, batting .320 (24-for-75) with 12 runs, 8 2Bs, 3B, HR and 5 RBI in 19 games for San Francisco...started 18 games (all in RF) and hit safely in 14 of 18 starts (6 multi-hit contests)...had stellar 1st week with club, hitting safely in each of his 1st 6 games at .480 (12-for-25) with 8 runs, 2 2Bs, 3B, HR and 2 RBI...during that stretch recorded 1st-career 4-hit game Sept. 3 at Colorado, finishing 4-for-5 with pair of 2Bs...also slugged 1st career HR Sept. 6 vs. Pittsburgh, solo shot in 8th inning (off Jesse Chavez), giving SF 7-5 lead in eventual 7-6 SF victory...also recorded 1st career outfield assist in that contest, throwing out Freddy Sanchez at 2B base...went 3-for-5 with franchise record-tying 3 2Bs Sept. 24 vs. Colorado...prior to recall, had spent majority of year at triple-A Fresno, but took brief time off to participate in 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China...was selected to U.S. baseball team as replacement for an injured Colby Rasmus (STL)...batted .216 (8-for-37) with 4 2Bs, HR and 6 RBI in 9 games, while earning bronze medal... enjoyed one of his best professional minor league seasons, hitting .320 (112-for-350) with careerhigh 18 HRs while driving in 73 runs in 93 games for Grizzlies...tied for 2nd in PCL with 10 3Bs... hit safely in 17 of his final 18 contests at .432 (32-for-74), raising season avg. from .294 to .320.

2007

Enjoyed tremendous season, making splash with both triple-A Fresno and Giants...swung bat well in big leagues, hitting .304 with 5 2Bs, 3 3Bs and 10 RBI in 39 games (24 starts, all in RF)...was impressive against left-handed pitching, going 9-for-18 (.500)...made ML debut as 9th inning defensive replacement in RF June 11 vs. Toronto...made 1st big league start June 12 vs. Blue Jays, and singled in 1st ML plate appearance (off A.J. Burnett)...delivered 2-out, walk-off, RBI-single in 13th inning June 23 vs. Yankees (off Scott Proctor), giving SF 6-5 victory... batted .325 (13-for-40) in 14 games during 1st ML stay...was recalled for good Sept. 1, and went 21-for-72 (.292) in 25 contests...had pair of 3-hit games, going 3-for-4 June 17 at Boston and 3-for-5 in Sept. 30 season finale at LA...finished 5th in Pacific Coast League with .333 avg., 2ndbest mark amongst all SF farmhands...also compiled 31 2Bs, 7 3Bs, 16 HRs, 68 RBI and 10 steals in 109 games with Grizzlies...enjoyed power surge after returning to Fresno following ML stint June 11-July 1, hammering 12 HRs in 189 at-bats (1 every 15.8 ABs)...hit only 4 HRs in 222 ABs prior to initial recall...had excellent Arizona Fall League campaign with Scottsdale Scorpions, batting .348 (31-for-89) with 8 2Bs, 1 3B, 4 HRs, 10 RBI and .596 slugging mark in 23 games...ranked 4th in league for avg., 2nd for slugging and 4th with 13 extra-base hits.

2006

Paced double-A Connecticut in nearly all major offensive categories, including at-bats (470), runs (55), hits (126), total bases (206), 2Bs (26), 3Bs (6), HRs (14), RBI (54), and slugging percentage (.438/min. 100 ABs)...tied franchise record with 25-game hitting streak August 4-30, batting .398 (43-for-108) with 20 RBI during stretch...rebounded from slow start to hit .329 (70-for-213) beginning July 1, raising avg. 50 points...played for Lenn Sakata's Waikiki club in Hawaiian Winter League, batting .248 (28-for-113) with 5 2Bs, 3 HRs and 16 RBI in 30 games.

2005

Enjoyed monster season at single-A San Jose, helping club to California League championship by batting .319 with 83 runs, 37 2Bs, 8 3Bs, 15 HRs and career-high 86 RBI...avg. ranked 3rd in league and was 9th among Giants farmhands, while his RBI total was 4th-best in SF system...also ranked 4th in circuit for hits (160), 3rd for 3Bs (8) and 5th for total bases (258)...hit at .333 clip (10-for-30) in 7 playoff contests.

2004

Split season between organization's top 2 single-A outposts, ranking 3rd among all Giants farmhands with 18 HRs and 2nd with 84 RBI...was consistent with both clubs, earning South Atlantic League All-Star honors with Hagerstown after hitting .296 with 22 2Bs, 15 HRs and 53 RBI in 58 games...was leading circuit in HRs and extra-base hits at time of promotion...despite not joining San Jose until mid-June, was 2nd on club with 9 3Bs and 4th with 18 2Bs...batted .295 with 3 HRs and 31 RBI in 62 games...was 4-for-19 (.211) in 5 playoff contests.

2003

Opened professional career by hitting at .400 clip (18-for-45) in 11 games with Giants' affiliate in Arizona Rookie League, then earned promotion to single-A Salem-Keizer...logged 35 contests as Volcanoes' primary 3rd baseman, batting .306 with 6 2Bs, 2 3Bs, 3 HRs and 29 RBI.
