Jerry L. Owens...attended The Master's College in Santa Clarita, CA, but not until playing 2 seasons of football at UCLA... after red-shirting for the Bruins in 1999, played in 9 games as a red-shirt frosh in 2000...played split-end, caught one pass and played on punt coverage...graduated from Hart (CA) High, where he played baseball (only until sophomore season) and football...caught passes in high school from teammate Kyle Boller, who went on to star at Cal and has played for the NFL's Rams and Ravens.
2009
Spent majority of season hitting .323 in 100 games for Tacoma of the Triple-A Pacific Coast League...began season with Charlotte of the Triple-A International League...had contract purchased by CWS on April 14 and went 1-for-12 in 12 games with the White Sox before being released...signed with SEA on May 4 and was assigned to Tacoma...OBP in the PCL was .390 thanks to 44 walks in just 100 games...hit .333 (31-for-93) with RISP for Tacoma.
