Joshua Dean Fields....he and his wife, Ashleigh, have one son, Kaden (10/17/09)...attended Oklahoma State University where he hit .364 with 25 home runs and 132 RBI in three seasons with the Cowboys...named a First-Team All-American by Baseball America prior to the 2004 season...also played three seasons as a quarterback for the OSU football team...passed for 2,494 yards and 21 touchdowns in leading the Cowboys to a 9-4 mark in 2003... recorded five career games with 300 yards or more, including two bowl games...set a then Cotton Bowl record with 307 passing yards vs. Miss. on Jan. 2, 2004...graduated from Stillwater High School (OK), where he played baseball and football.
2011
Split time between Triple-A Colorado Springs (Colorado) and the Yomiuri Giants, batting a combined .303 with 24 doubles, two triples, 13 home runs and 54 RBI...played 50 games with the Sky Sox and 40 with the Giants ... Hit .365 (65-for-178) with 20 doubles, one triple, 11 home runs and 45 RBI with the Sky Sox...after his final Triple-A game (June 12), was tied for fifth in the Pacific Coast League in average and doubles and sixth in slugging (.674)...also was leading the Sky Sox in home runs and ranked second in RBI and extra base hits ... Batted .202 with four doubles, one triple, two home runs and nine RBI with Yomiuri...amongst Giants who played less than 45 games, ranked first on the team in RBI and tied for first in doubles and homers.
2010
Missed nearly entire season after undergoing labral surgery on his right hip in late April...Played in three games on rehab with the Arizona League Royals from 8/12-15 before having his rehab transferred to Northwest Arkansas on 8/17...Hit safely in 10 of his 11 games with the Naturals before being recalled from his rehab assignment and reinstated from the disabled list on 9/1...Hit safely in nine of his 12 starts with the Royals...Hit safely in each of his first four games, including three straight multi-hit contests from 9/4-8...Homered for the first time on 9/7 at Minnesota...Went deep in back-to-back games on 9/27-28...Made all 12 of his defensive appearances at third base...Hit .200 (16-for-80) with two doubles and six RBI in 22 games while playing for Senadores de San Juan in the Puerto Rican Winter League.
2009
Split the season between the Chicago White Sox and Charlotte (AAA)...Hit his second career grand slam on July 23 vs. Tampa Bay, the same game Mark Buehrle recorded a perfect game...according to Elias Sports Bureau, it was the first grand slam hit in support of a perfect game.
2008
spent the majority of the season with class aaa charlotte ... appeared in 14 games over two stints with the white sox (100 in 2007), going 5-32 (.156) with two rBi ... was with the sox from 7/25-8/9 and recalled for the second time on 9/2 ... made six starts at third base and two as designated hitter ... drove in both runs with a double on 7/29 at Minnesota ... hit .067 (1-15) in his last nine games ... began the season with the Knights and hit .246 (68-276) with 15 doubles, 10 homers and 35 rBi in 75 games ... hit seven home runs in april and May combined and just three the remainder of the season (43 games) ... underwent right knee surgery on 10/9 at rush university Medical center (procedure performed by dr. charles Bush-Joseph).
