Spent the majority of the season at Triple-A Louisville in the Reds organization, also seeing time with CIN before being claimed off waivers by the Padres...Made 11 starts for the Padres, all in right field...also made three starts for the Reds in right field...Posted a .924 OPS during his time in the minors, hitting .319 while averaging an extra-base hit every 8.6 at-bats.
2010
Made 73 apps for the Red Sox and Athletics...for Bos played LF (46g, 41gs) and RF (3g, 2gs)...made 16 additional starts in RF for Oak...from 6/10-7/21 was on the Sox' disabled list with fractured ribs suffered in a collision with Adrian Beltre on 6/4 at Bal...after he returned from that injury went 2-for-20 in 7 apps for Bos and was hitless in his last 17ab when he was designated for assignment on 7/31...on 8/9 was outrighted to Class AAA Pawtucket and hit .310 (2hr, 12rbi) in 17g there before he was released on 8/31...3 days later was signed by the A's to a minor league contract...after 3 apps with Class AAA Sacramento was promoted to Oak on 9/7, started in RF that night vs Sea and singled in the ninth inning to snap a season-long 0-for-20 skid...on 9/24 vs Tex tied his career high with 4 hits, including his 100th career double...beginning with that 4-hit game batted .316 in his last 10 apps of the season...following the season became a free agent after he refused an outright assignment...on 1/4 was signed by the Reds to a minor league contract with an invitation to 2011 Major League spring training camp.
