2010
Spent an injury-plagued season at Tacoma (AAA) in the Seattle Mariners organization...missed nearly two and a half months with a right elbow injury.
2009
Made Nationals Opening Day roster and threw 2.0 innings in season opener April 6 at Florida...made 4 relief appearances (0-0, 5.40) before being designated for assignment on April 20...signed with Seattle as a minor league free agent on May 2 and reported to Tacoma (AAA)...also saw action in 5 games (3 starts) with West Tennessee (AA), going 3-0 with 0.43 ERA (1 ER, 21.0 IP)...returned to Tacoma on July 2...had season cut short after suffering a fracture of his right cheekbone on July 26 vs. Las Vegas...pithed for Lara in the Venezuelan Winter League (4-1, 4.17 ERA, 12 GS, 69.0 IP, 0 BB, 39 SO).

Spent bulk of season with Salt Lake (AAA) for the 2nd straight year... combined to go 7-3 with a 4.09 ERA (38 ER, 83.2 IP) in 36 appearances (7 GS)...first season as a primary reliever...following the season, pitched in 3 games for Team USA at the IBAF World Cup in Taiwan.
2006
Shell was promoted from Double-A Arkansas to Triple-A Salt Lake on April 22. He went 5-9 with a 6.16 ERA for the Bees in 24 appearances (22 starts). He started three games for the Travelers and went 1-2 with a 4.00 ERA. Shell struggled following the All-Star break, going 2-5 with an 8.54 ERA. His 2006 campaign marked his sixth year in the Angels organization, and he has yet to appear with the Major League club.
2005
Spent entire season at double-A Arkansas...Registered 10-8 record, one complete game shutout and a 4.57 ERA (159.2 IP - 81 ER) in 27 starts...Allowed 175 hits (18 HR), walked 58 and struck out 126 batters...Ranked third in Texas League in walks and strikeouts...Tossed fifth career complete game and third shutout, July 16 at Corpus Christi (2-0 score; 9 IP, 6 H, 1 BB, 9 SO)...Finished 6-3 with a 4.35 ERA (72.1 IP - 35 ER) in 12 home starts...Collected three wins in both June and August and posted a 2.36 ERA in July...Strikeout high was 11, set May 16 vs. Tulsa (6 IP).

Posted 12-7 record and 3.59 ERA (165.1 IP - 66 ER) with two complete games and one shutout in 28 starts for single-A Rancho Cucamonga...Set career-highs in wins, ERA, starts, complete games, innings pitched and strikeouts...Held opponents to .248 average against...Tied for team lead in starts, wins and complete games and led Quakes in innings pitched, home runs allowed (19), hit batters (16), and strikeouts...Struck out 190 batters while only walking 40...Strikeouts total ranked fourth in minors and finished fourth in California League in ERA and innings pitched...Earned Organization Pitcher of the Year honors...Named to California League Post-Season All-Star Team and was California League All-Star Game selection...Honored as Organization Pitcher of the Month for both May (3-1, 2.68) and Aug. (4-2, 2.70), while being named California Pitcher of the Week for Aug. 9-15...In lone start for week, threw complete game shutout, allowing five hits and no walks while striking out 13 in win over Lake Elsinore.

Spent third professional season at Rancho Cucamonga, compiling 6-8 record and 4.24 ERA (127.1 IP - 60 ER) with one complete game shutout in 22 games (21 starts)...Allowed 123 hits, walking 26 while striking out 100...Ranked third in California League in shutouts and walks per nine innings (1.91)...Allowed .248 average against...Earned Topps California Pitcher of the Month and Organization Pitcher of the Month for May...Also named California League Pitcher of the Week, May 12-18...Selected to California League All-Star Game.
