Darrell Wayne Rasner
Full name is Darrell Wayne Rasner...he and his wife, Jennifer, have a son, Evan (2/23/05)...played collegiate baseball at the University of Nevada...went 28-15 with a 3.80 ERA in three seasons with the Wolf Pack and left with numerous school records, including most wins in a season (14 in 2000), career wins (28) and strikeouts (302)...was named All-Big West and freshman All-American after going 14-2 in 2000...was named to WAC second team after junior campaign...graduated from Carson (NV) High School in 1999, where he lettered in baseball all four years...was named all-conference four times during high school career.
2007
Was 1-3 with a 4.01 ERA in six starts over two stints with the Yankees in 2007 (4/2-4/20, 5/5-5/20)...Opponents batted .290 (29-for-100, 4HR); LH .375 (18-for-48, 2HR), RH .212 (11-for-52, 2HR)...Made his first Opening-Day roster in 2007...Made his first start of the season on 4/8 vs. Baltimore, recording the loss (4.1IP, 8H, 5ER, 2BB, 2K, 2HR)...Was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on 4/20...in 2G (1GS) with Scranton/WB, was 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA (8.0IP, 5H, 2BB, 3K)...was recalled from Scranton/WB on 5/5...In his first start back, threw 5.2 scoreless IP and earned the win on 5/6 vs. Seattle in a 5-0 Yankees victory (3H, 2BB)...recorded season-highs in innings pitched and strikeouts (4)...Allowed 2H and 2ER without retiring a batter in 5/19 loss at New York (NL) throwing just nine pitches ...was removed after he was hit on the right hand by an Endy Chavez one-hopper...Underwent surgery on 5/20 to repair a fractured right index finger and was placed on the 60-day D.L. that same day through the end of the season (missed 121 team games)...Made two rehab starts with Single-A Staten Island (8/31 at Hudson Valley and 9/4 vs. Brooklyn)...had a 5.14 ERA and did not record a decision (7.0IP, 8H, 4ER, 3BB, 3K, 1HR).

as the No. 8 prospect in the Nationals' organization...spent majority of season with Double-A Harrisburg, posting a 6-7 record with a 3.59 ERA in 27 games (26 starts) to earn his first promotion to the Majors...his 3.59 ERA ranked fourth-best among all Nationals' minor-leaguers. Also ranked fifth among all Eastern League pitchers in ERA (min. 25 starts) and ranked ninth in the EL with 150.1 innings pitched...was 4-2 with a 2.89 ERA in 17 starts with Harrisburg after 6/1...during that span, posted a 3.6/1 strikeout-to-walk ratio (64K/18BB)...recorded a career-high 11 strikeouts on 8/25 at Binghamton...was recalled by Washington on 9/6 and made his Major League debut in starter role that night vs. Florida, suffering the loss after allowing 3ER in 2.2IP...Became the 25th pitcher (and 54th player) to appear in a game for the Nationals in 2005...also became the second pitcher to make his Major League debut with the Nationals in 2005 and the second player from the Expos' 2002 First-Year Player Draft to reach the Majors (also RHP Jason Bergmann)...appeared in four more games (all in relief) and posted 4.2 scoreless innings to finish the season...pitched in a total of five Major-League contests and went 0-1 with a 3.68 ERA in 7.1 IP.
