Carmen Salvatore Cali...1997 graduate of Naples (FL) High School where he played baseball and football...attended Florida Atlantic University where he was named All-Conference in 1998.
2007
Began season at Triple-A Rochester...did not allow a run in six appearances, going 1-0, 0.00 (9.0 ip) with one save, April 23-May 9...had contract selected from Rochester, May 22...did not allow a run in seven appearances (5.1 ip), before being optioned to Rochester, June 13...did not allow a run in five appearances (7.0 ip), June 29-July 13...recalled from Rochester, July 6...optioned to Rochester, July 8...posted a 1.23 ERA (14.2 ip, 2 er) in nine appearances from July 12-29 with the Red Wings...finished with a 3-0 record with a 1.93 ERA (23.1 ip, 5 er) in 14 home games with Rochester..recalled August 4 and remained with the Twins the rest of the season..stranded two inherited runners as he struck out the only batter he faced August 12 at Los Angeles (AL)...tossed a career-high 3.2 scoreless innings, August 20 vs. Seattle.

Opened the season in Memphis' (Triple-A, St. Louis) bullpen appearing in 27 games posting a 5.60 ERA...did not allow an earned run from April 12-April 19 (four appearances)...allowed 11 hits in his last five outings and was transferred to Springfield of the Texas League on June 27... made his first start on July 5 and pitched 3.0 innings...tossed 3.0 or more innings on five occasions including a season-high 4.0 on July 22 and struck out a season-high four...did not allow a run in his last five outings (7.1 innings)...made three starts for Springfield.
2005
Spent the Majority of the season with Triple-A Memphis making 50 relief appearances...pitched more than 1.0 inning on 18 occasions, including 11 2.0 inning outings...pitched 3.1 scoreless innings over his first three games with Memphis and was recalled on April 12...pitched in one game for the Cardinals before being optioned back on April 19...was recalled for the second time on April 27...appeared in three games for the Cards and combined to allow five runs on six hits...optioned back to Memphis on May 5...was recalled for the last time on June 23 and appeared in just one game, but tossed a season high 2.0 innings vs. Colorado on June 20...was optioned back to Triple-A on July 9...struck out a season high four on July 26 vs. Sacramento...did not allow an earned run in his last six outings...posted a 1.38 ERA (13.0 ip, 2 er) in his final 10 games...pitched 22 games for Licey in the Dominican Winter League...posted a 0.89 ERA.
2004
Began season at Tennessee where he recorded 14 saves and struck out 47 in 46.1 innings...posted nine saves and a 2.03 ERA (13.1 ip, 3 er) in his 12 appearances in June...promoted to Memphis in late July...did not allow a run in his first five appearances with the Redbirds...held lefties to a .120 batting average (3-for-25)...contract selected September 3...made Major League debut in relief, September 8 at San Diego...went on to make 10 appearances for the Cardinals.
2003
Spent the entire year at Palm Beach (A) and appeared in a career-high 62 games...fanned 70 batters in 70.1 IP, including a season-high four in 2.0 IP on 7/28 at Lakeland...only allowed two HR's all season and had a stretch of 51 games between 4/30 and 8/31 (final game of season) in which he allowed no round-trippers.
2002
Split time between Potomac and Peoria...allowed just one home run in 29 games (35.0 innings) with Potomac...was promoted to Peoria in late June and went 1-1 with a 1.78 ERA in 24 games...worked a season-high 3.2 innings with five strikeouts while earning a save on August 11 vs. Quad Cities.
2001
Began season at Peoria and went 7-3 in 39 games...won seven straight decisions from June 28-July 22 and earned a promotion to Potomac...posted a 2.19 ERA in 12.1 innings for Potomac...appeared in a combined 51 games (all in relief).
