Full name is Bradley Joseph Thompson...married in the winter of 2008 to Andrea...former Cardinals teammate Randy Flores presided over the ceremony...Graduated from Cimarron Memorial High in Las Vegas in 2000...Received his associate of science degree from Dixie State College in St. George, Utah...played in the Junior College World Series and was named to the JC World Series All-Tournament team...had his #17 jersey retired by Dixie State along with fellow alum Brandon Lyon on October, 30, 2009.

Displayed versatility in splitting time between the bullpen and starting. Made 17 starts & was 6-4, 4.66 in those games vs. 2-2, 4.91 in 27 relief appearances. The Cardinals won 12 of the 17 games he started. Allowed a team-high 23 home runs in 129.1 IP. He ranked T-5th in N.L. with 13 hit batsmen. Was 5-1 with a 3.68 ERA combined against the N.L. Central and West. Was 2-3, 6.19 ERA in 12 games (4 starts) vs. N.L. East foes. Spent the majority of the season with St. Louis but was optioned to Memphis (AAA) on 8/24 and recalled on 9/4. Pitched in two games while at Triple-A and allowed four runs in 3.1 IP on 8/27 vs. Iowa and went 5.0 scoreless IP in a start 9/1 vs. Nashville. Made Opening Day roster for the second time and second straight season. Allowed three runs in 13.1 innings (2.03 ERA) spanning seven Grapefruit League games. He allowed just one run in 9.1 innings while being groomed as a starter. Went 1.2 IP in releif on 4/7 at HOU allowing 2 solo HR's...his1st time allowing multi-HR in game. Allowed a career-high eight runs and matched a career high with 10 hits allowed in an 8-1 loss on 6/12 at KC. Also matched a career-high with four walks. Tossed 2.0 scoreless innings of relief on 6/16 at OAK and allowed 3 hits. It was his first relief app. since 5/1 at MIL. Was stellar in a start 6/19 vs. KC, allowing a run on seven hits in the 5-1 win. It was his first career interleague win. Pitched 6.0 innings and allowed two runs on six hits 6/29 in a 4-2 Cards win at CIN. Allowed the two runs with two outs in his final inning of work (Hamilton HR). Lost 4-0 on 7/17 at FLA despite a quality start. Worked 6.0 IP and allowed three runs on seven hits, the big blow a 2-run HR in the 5th by Hanley Ramirez. Notched second straight quality start 7/22 at ATL, working 6.0 innings & allowing two runs in the Cards 7-2, 10-inning win. It was his third no-decision in his last four starts. His eight outings for St. Louis between 8/1-23 were all out of the bullpen. During that span he was 0-1, 4.35 ERA covering 10.1 IP (5er). Made first start since 7/28 on 9/9 at ARI. Went 2.0 IP in a no-decision in which St. Louis lost, 6-5. Posted his first quality start since 7/22 on 9/22 vs. HOU. He earned the win with 6.0 IP, allowing one run on four hits. Allowed two unearned runs in 6.0 innings of a 7-3 win at MIL in his last outing (start) of the season on 9/26.

Righthander was on the Opening Day roster for the first time in his career...Was with the big-league club until an option to Memphis (AAA) on 7/3 (Chris Duncan recalled) after 32 outings (one start)...He was recalled on 8/9...Prior to his option, had allowed runs (20 total) in 9 of last 17 outings, raising ERA from 0.52 to 4.24...Optioned a second time to Memphis (AAA) on 8/15 before his 9/1 recall for the remainder of the season...Made nine appearances after 9/1 recall. In just his second season of pro ball, set a Southern League record for consecutive scoreless innings (49.0), not allowing a run until his eighth start of the season (5/19 vs. West Tennessee)...had a 57.2 inning scoreless streak dating back to end of 2003 season, just 1.1 innings shy of Irving "Kaiser" Wilhelm's mark of 59.0 for Birmingham in 1907...record stood at 7-0 with 0.18 ERA at the end of his scoreless streak...started all but one of 16 appearances at Double-A Tennessee and Triple-A Memphis...had an 8-2 record with a 2.36 ERA in 13 starts for Tennessee and went 1-0 in three mid-season starts for Memphis...his 2.90 ERA ranked third among Cardinals minor league starters and his two shutouts tied for second in the Southern League...was named the Cardinals Pitcher of the Month for April when he hurled 23.1 scoreless innings, going 3-0 in four starts...named the TOPPS Southern League Player of the Month for May with a 4-1 mark, 2.32 ERA...was twice selected as Southern League Pitcher of the Week (4/23-29 and 5/14- 20)...was on the disabled list from 7/2 to 8/27 with right shoulder tendinitis...selected to play in the Futures Game prior to MLB All-Star week, but was sidelined due to injury...pitched 11 games at Double-A with a 7-1 mark before being promoted to Memphis...won his first start at Triple-A on 6/14 vs. New Orleans, lasting 5.1 innings allowing six hits and one run...made two more starts at Memphis before going on the DL...made his final two starts of the year at Tennessee...his season-high in innings pitched came 4/28 at Montgomery when he went 8.2 IP, allowing just three hits (no runs)...appeared in four games (three starts) for Mesa in the Arizona Fall League and went 0-0 with a 4.50 ERA.

Used mainly in relief and went 5-3 with a 2.91 ERA in 30 games (four starts) for Peoria (Class A)...ranked second among relief pitchers in the Midwest League with 1.38 walks per 9 IP ratio...his longest outing came in a start on 7/10 when he went 5.0 IP (3 H, 1 ER)...was 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA in eight appearances during July...his final two games (one start) were at Palm Beach (A Advanced)...earned the victory in his start 8/29 with 5.0 IP, 0 ER...held opponents scoreless in his final three games (8.1 IP).
