Was mainstay in Giants' bullpen for entire season, going 5-1 with 3.01 ERA (23er, 68.2ip) in career-high 61 relief outings...tied his career-high in wins (also 2006), which were tied for 8th-most by NL reliever...was also just 3.0 innings shy of tying his career-best mark of 71.2 in 2006...logged 2nd-most innings on club behind Brian Wilson (72.1)...his 3.01 ERA was his lowest figure since compiling 1.78 mark in his rookie season in 2005...went 1-for-4 in save opportunities and yielded .248 avg. against (63-for-254)...inherited 44 runners, allowing just 18 to score (59.1%)...ranked 4th on team with 8 holds...owned much better road ERA (2.27) than home figure (4.03)...was at his best when pitching on 0-1 days of rest, logging 1.64 ERA (6er, 33.0ip)...was on an Opening Day roster for 4th time in his career...signed by Giants as free agent over offseason, Medders was invited to spring camp as non-roster invitee and made club after going 3-1 with 1.20 ERA (2er, 15.0ip) in 13 spring contests...began season with 3 scoreless outings (2.1ip) April 7-9 before allowing his 1st run of year, solo HR to San Diego's Chase Headly April 11...that home run triggered appearance in which he gave up 7 earned runs in 10.1 innings from April 11-May 6, raising his season ERA from 0.00 to season-high 4.97...had one of his best stretches of season from May 10-June 9, allowing 2 unearned runs in 13.0 innings, covering 14 games...held opposition to .191 avg. against (9-for-47) during that span...in fact, had 28-game stretch from May 10 to July 28 where he allowed just 4 earned runs in 29.0 innings (1.24 ERA)...only Florida's Brian Sanches (1.08) and Kiko Calero (1.74) had lower marks among NL relievers than Medders during that stretch...blew consecutive save opportunities June 19-27 vs. Texas and Milwaukee...combined for 1.2 innings while allowing 3 hits and 1 run...allowed season-high 5 runs and 4 hits Aug. 11 vs. Los Angeles-NL...gave up 2-run HR to Manny Ramirez and 3-run shot to Matt Kemp of Giants' 9-1 loss...earned 1st career save Aug. 26 vs. Arizona, working scoreless 9th inning in SF's 4-3 win... went 3-0 with 1.56 ERA (3er, 17.1ip) over his final 14 games.
2008
Made Arizona's Opening Day roster for 3rd consecutive season and went 1-0 with 4.58 ERA (10er,19.2ip) in 18 games...was designated for assignment May 22 and then outrighted to triple-A Tucson May 30 after clearing waivers...joined Sidewinders June 2, making 1st appearance that night at Fresno and struck out 2 in 1.0-scoreless inning...did not allow any of 6 runners he inherited to score while with Tucson.
2007
Opened the season with the Major League club for the second consecutive season...Picked up a hold on April 5 at Washington, allowing a run and a pair of hits over 1.2 innings...Earned his first win of the season on April 29 vs. San Francisco, tossing a perfect inning of relief, his first win since Aug. 15, 2006 at Colorado...Tied his season-high with 2.0 innings pitched on May 23 against Colorado...Made his first appearance for the Sidewinders on June 9, allowing 1 run over 2.0 innings...Earned the win on June 12 against Las Vegas, tossing 2.0 innings...With the D-backs, held left-handed batters to a .186 average (8-for-43) with 3 of those hits being home runs.
2006
In his second year with the D-backs, Medders went 5-3 with a 3.64 ERA. He gave up 29 earned runs over 71 1/3 innings. Medders pitched his best in the month of May, giving up just one earned run over 14 1/3 innings for an 0.61 ERA.
2005
Had three different stints with the D-Backs during the season. ... Was coming off "Tommy John" Surgery on June 3, 2004. ... Struck out a season-best five on Aug. 23 in two-inning stint against Mets.
