Reginald (Reggie) Damascus Abercrombie... graduated from Columbus High School (GA) in 1999 as a highly recruited prep quarterback... his father, James, played baseball at Tennessee State University... enjoys baseball, football and video games.
2007

Split season between Jupiter (A) and Carolina (AA) in the Marlins organization, after he was claimed off waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks on April 5... hit .266 with 25 home runs and 68 RBI in 125 games between the two levels... Began year with Jupiter and batted .274 with 15 home runs and 45 RBI in 76 games... went 4x4 with home run and four RBI on April 22 against Brevard... hit in 15 straight games from April 27 to May 12, batting .436 (24x55) with five home runs and 13 RBI during the streak... went 4x5 with home run and two RBI on May 9 at Sarasota... for May, hit .340 with seven home runs and 19 RBI in 26 games... named Florida State League Player of the Week for May 9-15, hitting .269 with three home runs and six RBI... appeared only in center field for Jupiter... selected to Florida State League All-Star game... Promoted to Carolina on July 6 and batted .253 with 10 home runs and 23 RBI in 49 games with the Mudcats... hit .257 with six home runs against right-handers and .237 with four homers against left-handed pitchers... Played for Grand Canyon in the Arizona Fall League... hit .300 (27x90) with three home runs and 11 RBI in 23 games... appeared at all three outfield positions and as the designated hitter.
2004
Began the year on the disabled list after undergoing right knee reconstruction in the off-season to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered during the Arizona Fall League... he returned to the playing field on May 3 and played in six games for Vero Beach (A) before being transferred to Jacksonville (AA)... he struggled with the Suns, batting only .173 with 66 strikeouts in 41 games... he returned to Vero Beach and hit safely in 14 of his first 17 contests... was part of a five-player trade on July 31, when the Dodgers dealt him, left-handed pitcher Bill Murphy and catcher Koyie Hill to the D'Backs in exchange for outfielder Steve Finley and catcher Brent Mayne... after the trade, Reggie thrived with Lancaster (A), hitting .342 in 29 games, hitting safely in 25 of 28 starts.
2003
Spent the entire season at Jacksonville (AA)... was recognized by Baseball America as the fourth-best prospect in the Dodgers' system and having the Southern League's Best Outfield Arm... topped the club in hits (117), triples (7), home runs (15), total bases (201) and stolen bases (28) while ranking second in doubles (25) and runs (59), and tied for second in RBI (54)... his best month was July, when he batted .347 (35x101) with five home runs, seven doubles and 17 RBI... following the season, played seven games for the Scottsdale Scorpions of the Arizona Fall League before tearing his ACL while chasing a fly ball... in those seven games, he hit .316 (6x19) with a home run and three stolen bases.
2002
Played in career-high 132 games for Single-A Vero Beach, hitting .276 with 10 home runs, 13 triples, 23 doubles, 56 RBI, 80 runs scored and 41 stolen bases...became only the third player in Vero Beach history to reach double figures in homers, triples and doubles in the same season...the 13 triples led the Florida State League and were first among all Dodger minor leaguers...ranked second in the FSL in steals...also was the club leader in hits (145), at-bats (526) and runs scored...selected as the organization's Player of the Month for August, when he batted .402 (45-for-112) with 14 RBI...hit .308 in May with 24 runs scored, 19 RBI and 12 stolen bases...played one regular- season contest for Jacksonville and then batted .303 (10-for-33) in eight Southern League playoff games...tabbed by Baseball America as the 10th-best prospect in the FSL.
2001
Swiped 44 bases in 55 attempts and hit a club-high 10 homers for Single-A Wilmington.
2000
Opened his pro career with Great Falls (R) and led all Dodger short-season minor leaguers and was second in the Pioneer League with 32 stolen bases... was chosen as the organization's Player of the Month for July.
