After spending the first two-and-a-half months of the season at Triple-A, Sullivan was called to the big
leagues in mid-June and batted .286 with two home runs and 14 RBI in 72 games for Colorado...was club's
starting centerfielder for much of late September...played primarily off the bench until his starts late in the
year, and batted .258 (8-for-31) as a pinch-hitter...hit .375 (12-for-32) with runners in scoring position,
including .625 (10-for-16) with RISP through the end of August...had a .500 (6-for-12) average with RISP
and two outs...a left-handed batter, he hit much higher against lefties (.353, 6-for-17)) than right-handers
(.276, 34-for-123)...hit higher on road (.315) than at Coors Field (.254)...had a .308 (12-for-39) average
with two outs...hit .462 (6-for-13) against the Cubs and .409 (9-for-22) against the Phillies...batted .269 (21-
for-78) with two strikes...saw bulk of his playing time in center field, but also appeared in left and right...did

Cory missed the entire season due to a torn Ulnar Collateral Ligament in his left elbow...underwent
UCL reconstruction surgery on March 15 at the Steadman-Hawkins Clinic in Denver, performed by Dr.
Thomas Noonan and Dr. Richard Hawkins...was optioned to Colorado Springs March 16 and placed on the
seven-day minor league disabled list April 8...had his contract purchased by the Rockies on May 17 and
placed on the 60-day major league DL that day...was reinstated on Oct. 27 and participated in the Arizona
Fall League...played in 22 games for the Mesa Solar Sox, batting .203 (23-for-64) with 0 HR and 2 RBI.
2003
Led the organization in hits for the second straight year as he paced the Texas
League with 167 base knocks...it was the third highest total ever by a
Rockies minor leaguer, trailing only Juan Pierre's 187 for Asheville in 1999
and Neifi Perez's 180 with Colorado Springs in 1996...Sullivan also led the
league in at-bats (557)...he was fifth in both doubles (34) and total bases
(232), tied for fifth in triples (8) and ranked sixth with a career-best
.300 batting average...led the Drillers with 17 stolen bases...the
left-handed hitter batted .338 vs. LHB (48-for-142) but .287 vs. righties
(119-for-415)...got off to a slow start in his first season at Class AA, as
he opened just 4-for-28...he then went on to hit .308 from April 11 through
the end of the year (163-for-529)...got hotter as the year progressed,
batting a combined .323 (111-for-344) over the final three months, including
a .307 clip in June, .344 in July and .314 in August...compiled a league and
organization-high 22-game hitting streak from Aug. 5-27, batting .340
throughout that stretch (32-for-94)...also reached base safely in 27
straight games, July 29-Aug. 27...Tulsa's everyday centerfielder and leadoff
batter, Cory wracked up 47 multi-hit games, including three 4-hit affairs.
Career:
One of the organization's top centerfield prospects and leadoff hitters, Cory
Sullivan makes his first appearance in a major league camp...has led the
Rockies system in hits for each of the past two years...only Joe Thurston
(352), Josh Barfield (351), Chad Tracy (346) and fellow-Rockie prospect
Aaron Miles (337) have combined for more hits over the past two minor league
seasons than Sullivan (328)...Baseball America tabbed Cory as having the
best outfield arm in the Texas League last summer and rated him as the 22nd
best prospect in the organization heading into 2004.
College:
Enjoyed an outstanding collegiate career at Wake Forest, where in
2001 alone he was all-ACC, a first-team All-American and MVP of the ACC
Tournament...batted leadoff in each of the school's 124 games during his two
seasons (2000-01), compiling a .382 career average...also went 7-0 with a
3.52 ERA as a left-hander starter for the Demon Deacons in 2001...was a

Led all Rockies minor leaguers in games (138), at-bats (560), hits
(161), and doubles (42)...led the Carolina League in doubles, runs and
at-bats, finished third in hits and total bases (251) and fourth in
extra-base hits (60)...named league Player of the Week May 9-15, during
which he was 12-for-23 (.522), including a 5-for-6 effort on May 13 vs.
Frederick...from June 1 until Aug. 31, Cory batted a combined .313
(105-for-336)...hit safely in 12 straight games June 3-14 (.353, 18-for-51).
2001
Signed with the Rockies on June 7 and made his pro debut with Single A
Asheville two days later...went on to play in 67 regular season games and in all five of the Tourists' playoff contests...he went 4-for-14 (.286) with 2 steals in Asheville's series victory over Augusta in the semifinals.
