The reliever set a career high in games (37), wins (two), and innings (56 1/3) in 2006. Earned his first career save with a perfect frame on May 7 vs. the Cubs. Allowed just two runs over 10 innings (1.80 ERA) over seven games in June. He made 16 relief appearances of at least two innings, including four outings for three innings. On April 21, he threw the last three innings of a 14-inning game with the Mets, striking out three and holding them to one hit, earning his first win of the season.
