Graduated from St. Thomas University in 2000 with a degree in sports management ... was a three-time recipient of the Sun Conference's Best Pitcher Award (1998-2000) while also being tabbed as the Regional Pitcher of the Year as a senior ... graduated from Palmetto (FL) Senior High School in 1996 ... Charles Vincent Chulk.
2011
Went 3-4 with a 3.36 ERA and 4 saves in 54 relief appearanes with Triple-A Sacramento in Oakland's organization ... held opponents to a .227 batting average.
2010
Began the year at Triple-A Indianapolis in the Pittsburgh farm system but finished it with Hiroshima of the Japanese Leagues...was 1-0 with a 4.96 ERA in 28 relief appearances with the Indians before he was released July 22...went to Japan and logged a 2-0 mark with one save and a 5.79 ERA in 16 relief appearances for Hiroshima...with the Indians, allowed a .293 opponents batting average...that included a .278 (22 for 79) mark against right-handed hitters and .315 (17 for 54) against left-handers...opponents hit .345 with all three of his home runs when leading off an inning...however, they batted .200 with runners in scoring position and two outs...posted a 3.31 ERA in 15 appearances at home and had a 6.61 ERA in 13 games on the road...allowed 5 of 13 (38.5%) inherited runners to score...tossed at least 1.0 inning in 25 of his 28 outings.
2009
Spent entire season in Cleveland organization after attending spring training as a non-roster invitee...Made one appearance with Triple-A Columbus before having contract selected by Cleveland on 4/11...Was scored upon in each of his first three appearances with the Indians...Surrendered only home run in second appearance; a grand slam to Kansas City's John Buck on 4/14 at Kauffman Stadium...Did not allow a run in final three outings (5.1ip) in April...Allowed a combined three runs in first two games in May and was designated for assignment on 5/7...Was outrighted to Columbus on 5/14, where he spent remainder of the season...Recorded first save on 5/28 vs. Charlotte...Picked up final three saves in next three appearances from 6/3-9...Worked 1.0 scoreless inning and recorded only win on 6/12 vs. Louisville...Was charged with two runs in 1.0ip in final outing on 7/7 vs. Indianapolis...Missed final two months with a right ankle sprain.
2008
Chulk was 0-3 with a 4.83 ERA in 27 appearances with the Giants after being activated from the 15-day DL with a shoulder ailment that curtailed his 2007 campaign as well. During his first four appearances in June, his ERA rose from 2.92 to 5.10 as he allowed nine runs in 5.1 innings. Over a longer stretch, Chulk had allowed 12 earned runs in 13.2 innings spanning his last 12 outings...The Giants designated Vinnie for assignment to AAA Fresno on June 24. Finishing the year with the Grizzlies, he went 0-1 and two saves with a 3.65 ERA in 22 games (2GS, 24.2IP, 25H, 10ER, 13BB, 21K). At Fresno, he held right-handed hitters to a .255 BAvg. (14-56), while lefties went 11-37 (.297) with 3HR off of him.
2007
Posted solid campaign in 1st full year with Giants, recording 57 relief appearances with 5-4 record and 3.57 ERA...however, missed final month of season due to circulatory problem in right arm...was originally placed on 15-day Disabled List Aug. 28, before being transferred to 60-day DL Sept. 7...at time of injury, was tied for staff lead in appearances, having logged 44-scoreless efforts (77.2%)...went 5-2 with 3.20 ERA (14er, 39.1ip) in his last 43 outings (35-scoreless) beginning May 7...without July 13 appearance vs. LA (5er, 0.1ip), season ERA would have been 2.73 (16er, 52.2ip)...rough outing against Dodgers came after 12-day absence due to Bereavement List stay and All-Star Break...picked up 1st win in Giants uniform May 17 at Houston, tossing perfect 11th inning...collected 1st ML hit Aug. 20 at Florida, single off Marlins' Sergio Mitre.
2006
Opened year in Toronto, but became key component of SF bullpen after being acquired in July 21 deal...was unscored upon in 19 of 28 outings in Giants uniform, while holding opponents to .210 avg. against (17-for-81)...often called upon in tight situations, stranded 15-of-20 inherited runners (75.0%)...averaged 10.1 strikeouts per 9.0 innings, fanning 25 batters in 22.1 frames...logged 2.45 ERA (3er, 11.0ip) over his 1st 13 SF outings...scuffled to 7.94 mark (10er, 11.1ip) over his last 15 appearances, but did toss 2.0-scoreless frames in his final effort of campaign...in 20 relief appearances with Blue Jays, went 1-0 with 5.25 ERA (14er, 24.0ip).
2005
Logged entire season at ML level, and established career bests with 62 appearances, 72.0 innings pitched and 3.88 ERA...led AL in inherited runners stranded, leaving 33 of 37 (89.2%) on basepaths...limited right-handed batters to .231 avg. (34-for-147), with just 3 HRs...retired 46 of 62 1st-batters faced (74.2%)...fashioned 0.52 ERA (1er, 17.0ip) over 14-outing span July 7-Aug. 12.
2004
Began season at triple-A Syracuse, but was recalled by Toronto May 26 and stayed with Blue Jays remainder of campaign...appeared in 47 ML games, going 1-3 with 2 saves and 4.66 ERA...stranded 15 of 22 inherited runners (68.2%)...was outstanding in 17 outings prior to All-Star Break, forging 2.16 ERA (6er, 25.0ip)...however, was touched for 6.68 mark (23er, 31.0ip) in 30 2ndhalf efforts...earned 1st career save June 4 at Oakland with 2.0-scoreless innings...logged 1st ML victory Sept. 19, blanking visiting Tampa Bay over 1.1 frames.
2003
Was recalled from Syracuse Sept. 2, and made ML debut Sept. 8 at Yankee Stadium...yielded hits to 1st 2 hitters faced before retiring next 3 batters without allowing run...made 3 big league appearances overall, with 5.06 ERA...led Syracuse pitching staff in wins (8 - T1st), starts (21 - T1st) and strikeouts (90)...was named Blue Jays Minor League Star of Month for July, when he posted 3-3 record with 3.38 ERA.
2002
Named Southern League's Most Outstanding Pitcher after leading league with 13 wins and 2.96 ERA in 25 games (24 starts) for double-A Tennessee...was promoted to Syracuse for 2 late-season outings (1 start)...Webster Award winner as Tennessee's MVP tied for organizational lead with 13 victories, while ranking 5th among Toronto farmhands with 110 strikeouts...named to trio of All-Star squads, earning recognition on in-season double-A and Southern League teams, along with SL post season club.

Ranked 2nd in Florida State League with ratio of 13.21 strikeouts per 9.0 innings, fanning 50 batters in 34.2 innings for single-A Dunedin...also pitched in 24 games at Tennessee, and 5 contests with Syracuse.
