2011

Spent the season with the St. Louis organization following his release by Cincinnati after Spring Training...signed by St. Louis on April 30 and batted .279 in 16 games with Triple-A Memphis before having his contract purchased on June 1...Batted .281 with nine RBI with the Cardinals and played in 79 games (50 at second base, five at third base, six at shortstop, two as a relief pitcher), making 23 starts...Hit .281 (16-for-57) as a right-handed hitter and .280 (23-for-82) as a left-hander...Batted .333 (24-for-72) in 38 road games...hit .364 (4-for-11) in six Interleague games...Hit safely in 16 of 23 starts (24-for-84, .286), including eight multi-hit games...Pitched in two games as a relief pitcher (Aug. 3 vs. Houston and Sept. 28 vs. Pittsburgh), both were scoreless innings with one hit allowed...Batted .357 (5-for-14) in 20 August games, the second-highest average on the team for the month.

Appeared in 74g for the Cubs around a pair of stints on the disabled list, from 5/26-6/9 with a strained right shoulder and from 6/21-8/4 with a hyperextended right elbow...made 35 apps and 26 starts at 2B, 8 apps and 5 starts at SS and 4 apps at 3B...from 4/25-5/6 started 12 consecutive games...following the season was traded twice, on 12/3 to the Athletics and on 2/1/10 to the Reds.

2008

Was the team's starting second baseman for 52 of his first 74 games on the active roster (not including DL stint), but started just 17 of the final 58 contests beginning with the start of August...had 16 infield hits and 10 sac bunts, both tied for the club lead...ranked among COL leaders in triples (T3rd, 3) and hits (7th, 91)...posted career high 14-game hit streak from 6/30-7/19, the second-longest by a Colorado batter in '05...hit .234 (15-for-64) against lefties and .292 (76-for-260) vs. right-handers...batted .347 (59-for-170) in 48 games at Coors Field, .208 (32-for-154) in 51 road games...hit .386 (27-for-70) with runners in scoring position...starts in batting order included leadoff (27 times), second (34), seventh (6) and eighth (2)...recorded his first career 5-hit game on Opening Day, 4/4 vs. SD, the most hits by a Rockies batter in a game all year...the five hits matched a major league record for Opening Day, but research by Retrosheet's David Smith showed that Miles posted just the third five-hit game on Opening Day since 1960 (SF's Jeff Kent-1998 (extra innings) and HOU's Craig Biggio-2001)...Miles doubled in each of his first two plate appearances and collected a career-high 3 doubles for the game, tying a Rockies club record...he was the first player to record three doubles in a season opener since HOU's Derek Bell in 1998...he hit .316 (24-for-76) in 20 games in April and had 4 hits on 4/22 vs. LA...went 2-for-17 to open the month of May, dropping average to .280...did not draw his first walk until 5/4 at San Diego, first free pass since 9/24/04...had gone 87 at-bats without a walk, and 119 at-bats overall since his last walk...first home run of the year was a grand slam on 5/8 at FLA off Al Leiter then on 5/9 went 4-for-5 at ATL and had 10 assists in the game to match a club second base record...strained a muscle in his right side in late May, but was given days off for the injury to heal...continued to play, but was eventually placed on the 15-day disabled list on 5/26 with a right intercostal strain...was 13-for-27 (.481) with runners in scoring position before his DL stint...played eight games during a rehab stint with Colorado Springs...was activated from the DL on 6/28...was 0-for-7 in first two games back, but then reeled off a career-high 14-game hit streak from 6/30-7/19, batting .292 (19-for-65) in that stretch...hit .289 (24-for-83) in 23 games in July...hit safely in nine-straight starts from 8/6-25, as well as hitting safely in 14 of his final 16 starts beginning 8/6...went 22-for-69 (.319) over the latter stretch and finished with a .281 average...was a late-inning defensive replacement at shortstop in one game on 9/29 at NY, his only career game at short, committing an error on his only chance.

Made the most of his first big league opportunity in 2004, as he led all major league rookies in hits (153) and runs scored (75) while leading all NL rookies with a .293 average...he was voted Rockies Rookie of the Year by the local BBWAA and finished fourth in the NL Rookie of the Year voting...only the White Sox's Ross Gload (.321) had a better average among big league rookies in 2004 and Miles' .293 clip was the highest by a rookie second baseman since Ronnie Belliard hit .295 with the Brewers in 1999...named to Baseball America's All Rookie Team and Topps' Major League Rookie All-Star Team...played in 134 games with 116 starts, all at second base and all in the leadoff spot...led the team with 12 stolen bases, swiping 12-of- 19 (63%)...switch hitter batted .301 (121-for-402) from the left side of the plate, .267 (32-for-120) from the right...recorded 43 multihit games, tops among all major league rookies...made his Rockies debut 4/7 at Bank One Ballpark, going 2-for-5 as the starting second baseman...became the first Rockie to ever homer from both sides of the plate in the same game when he turned the trick on 4/14 vs. ARI...led off the first inning with his first career home run (32nd major league at-bat), coming from the left side of the plate off Elmer Dessens...it was the 21st leadoff home run in franchise history...then turned around and belted his second career HR from the right side of the plate off Stephen Randolph in the fifth inning...Aaron became only the fifth player in major league history to hit his first two career home runs from different sides of the plate in the same game and first since Brian Simmons did it for the White Sox on 9/26/98...drove in 6 runs during that April 14 contest, equaling the club rookie record for RBI set by Derrick Gibson on 9/20/99 vs. ARI....after hitting .258 in April and .244 through the first 14 games in May, Miles was optioned to Colorado Springs (AAA) on 5/16...played in 12 games for the Sky Sox, batting .333 with 3 doubles and 8 RBI...recalled to the big leagues on 5/31, he turned around his season by hitting .361 in June (39-for-108), raising his average from to .265 to .312 in just 26 games...his June average was the highest among rookies and eighth highest in the NL...continued his hot bat into July, hitting safely in 13 consecutive games from 7/10-25...it was the longest hitting streak by a rookie in 2004 and equaled a club season high...Aaron batted .283 throughout the 13-game stretch (17-for-60)...compiled a total of 56 hits from June 1 to the All-Star Break, tying Texas' Michael Young for most in the majors...had 4 hits on 6/11 at Tampa Bay, his second 4-hit game of the year (also 4/17 at STL)...scored 4 runs on 6/19 vs. BAL, matching a Rockies season high...belted his second leadoff home run 7/2 vs. DET...started his 63rd game on 7/22, setting a franchise record for most starts by a rookie at second base (Roberto Mejia 62 in 1993)...stole a base in three consecutive games, 8/1-4, the first Rockie to do that since Juan Pierre, 4/26-28/02...played in 64 consecutive games after his recall before finally sitting out 8/11 at PHI...missed one game in Atlanta to be with his wife, Courtney, who gave birth to daughter Nicole Dakota on 8/24...rejoined the team the next day...poised to become the first rookie second baseman to hit over .300 in 20 years (Boston's Marty Barrett in 1984), Miles saw his average dip from .309 on Sept. from .309 on 9/5 to .293 by the end of the year...was hitting exactly .300 on 9/14, but went just 14 for his last 58 (.241)...following the season, he underwent successful surgery on his right knee 10/4 at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Denver...during the procedure, a cyst was burst within the Posterior Cruciate Ligament (PCL) of his right knee...spent his second consecutive full season in the major leagues with Colorado, spending a month on the disabled list due to a right intercostal strain. Led the team with 69 starts at 2nd base.

2003

Was named International League Rookie of the Year at Triple A Charlotte in his third and final season with the White Sox organization...led the league with a club-record 166 hits en route to earning his first big league promotion on 9/2...combined for 337 hits in 2002-03...only Joe Thurston (352), Josh Barfield (351) and Chad Tracy (346) had more hits during that time span...made his major league debut 9/11 vs. MIN as a pinch hitter (0-for-1) and went on to play in eight games for the White Sox, batting .333 (4-for-12) with 3 doubles, no homers and 2 RBI...collected first major-league hit and RBI on 9/18 at MIN...made first career start at second base on 9/28 at KC...became just the second player in Charlotte history to win International League Rookie of the Year, joining Billy McMillon in 1996...his 166 hits broke Chad Mottola's team mark of 164 set in 1999...ranked eighth among IL qualifiers in average (.304)...set career highs in runs scored (80), total bases (243) and home runs (11)...his 34 doubles ranked fourth on Charlotte's single-season list...was named to the mid-season all-star squad...posted a career-high .973 fielding percentage at second base (15 errors)...reached base in 21 consecutive games, 8/7-26...the switch-hitter struck out only 327 times in 3,704 minor league plate appearances (1 K/11.3 PA) and led three different leagues in fewest strikeouts.

Helped Birmingham (AA) to the Southern League championship and was named league MVP...also named Topps/Minor League Player of the Year, becoming just the second player in Barons history to win the award...Led the league in hits (171) and doubles (39), ranked second in average (.322) and tied for third in extra-base hits (49)...Also led in fewest strikeouts per plate appearance (1 K/13.09 PA)...Selected to Baseball America's Class AA All-Star Team...also named to the Double A and Southern League mid-season and post-season All-Star Teams...Led the organization in average, hits and doubles, ranked second in extra-base hits, third in runs (67) and on-base percentage (.369), fourth in RBI (68) and slugging (.450) and 10th in steals (25).

2001

Spent his first season in the White Sox organization at Double-A Birmingham ... hit all eight of his homers after the All-Star break, including a grand slam August 11 at Jacksonville.

Spent the season at Single-A Kissimmee in the Astros organization ... reached base safely in 18-straight games, August 10-September 3, including a season-high 12-game hitting streak.

1999

Ranked fifth among Midwest League leaders with a .317 batting average at Single-A Michigan...Named to the Midwest League post-season All-Star Team...selected by Baseball Weekly as an honorable mention All-Star...Led the league in fewest strikeouts per plate appearance (1 K/15.55 PA).
