2006

He spent time with the Angels on four separate occasions, hitting .229 with one home run and six RBIs in 48 games (16 starts). Murphy hit .302 with 43 runs scored, seven home runs and 36 RBIs in 73 games with Triple-A Salt Lake. The outfielder made his Major League debut on May 4 against the Tigers and went 2-for-4 with an RBI. His first Major League home run came on May 27 against the Orioles.

2005

Enjoyed finest season as professional in second campaign with Double-A Arkansas ... Hit .288 (144/500) with 85 runs, 24 doubles, 11 triples, 17 home runs, 76 RBI and 26 stolen bases ... Led Texas league in triples, ranked fourth in total bases (241) and fifth in extra-base hits (52) ... Set career-bests in runs scored, home runs and RBIs ... Batted .331 (82/248) at home, compared to .246 (62/252) on the road ... Tabbed as Organizational Defensive Player of the Month for July ... Stole 25-plus bases for fourth consecutive season.

Established career-high with 151 hits at Rancho Cucamonga which ranked fourth best in league...Led California League with 565 at-bats and was Quakes' leader in games (132), runs (74), total bases (221) and stolen bases (24).

Spent campaign with single-A Cedar Rapids and tallied 31 stolen bases to set career-best and lead club... Played 126 games as shortstop committing 33 errors.
