He, his wife Jina and daughter Marin (9/20/07) reside in Cumming, GA during the off-season...Selected by Tampa Bay in the 17th round of the June 1997 draft out of LaPorte High School in Indiana, but he did not sign...Finished 8-2 with a 4.94 ERA in 20 outings as a freshman at Auburn University in 1998...Posted an 8-2 record, 5.57 ERA and 125 strikeouts in 22 outings as a sophomore at Auburn University in 1999...Appeared in one game with Team USA during the summer of 1999...Compiled an 8-2 record, 3.76 ERA and 101 strikeouts in 19 outings as a junior at Auburn University in 2000.
2011
Assigned to Triple A Durham after signing with Tampa Bay as a minor league free agent on February 14, 2011...Sidelined April 13-May 1 with a concussion...Finished 2-1 with a 3.11 ERA (37.2IP/13ER) and 29 strikeouts in six outings (five starts) during June...Released by the Rays organization on July 2.

Selected to the International League's mid-season all-star squad as he spent the majority of the 2009 season with Triple A Indianapolis after signing with the Pittsburgh Pirates as a minor league free agent during the off-season...Third in the International League with 20 saves...Did not allow a run in 14 straight outings May 29-July 11, fanning 19 batters in 13.2 scoreless innings...Had his contract purchased by Pittsburgh from Indianapolis for the remainder of the season on August 7.

Sidelined to begin the 2008 season with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim with a left oblique strain...Appeared in three games with Single A Rancho Cucamonga during an injury rehabilitation assignment April 12-20...Made 10 appearances with the Angels before being sidelined June 9-July 3 with a right elbow strain...Joined Rancho Cucamonga for a second injury rehabilitation assignment June 28-July 3...Had his contract outrighted by the Angels to Triple A Salt Lake for the remainder of the season on July 3...Compiled a 1.10 ERA (23.1IP/5ER) in 12 outings with Salt Lake during August.

2006
He spent four different trips with the Angels in 2006. Bootcheck pitched in seven games out of the bullpen and allowed 12 earned runs in 10 1/3 innings (10.45 ERA). He worked mainly from the bullpen with Triple-A Salt Lake and went 4-3 with a 6.72 ERA in 40 games (five starts). Bootcheck went on the 15-day disabled list in May, suffering from a strained left hamstring. He has been in the Angels organization since 2001 and has appeared in the Major Leagues during three of those seasons.
2005
Split fifth professional season between Triple-A Salt Lake and the Angels ... Finished 7-4 with a 5.42 ERA (116.1 IP - 70 ER) in 21 starts for the Stingers ...
